That was simply breathtaking.

I was starting to get bored of rugby when games were just box kick after box kick, but *that* was just marvellous.

 :appl:

Same. And it has really made me appreciate defence as well in a way I never have before.

No words for that, that haven’t already been said.

That was incredible, surrounded by in-laws and family tonight who have no interest in Rugby at all yet were all sat in absolute silence for that last 15 minutes.

Love special sport nights like that when I’m fully neutral and can just enjoy it to the absolute max

England are going to get absolutely obliterated by SA. good.

Weirdly I now fancy England, bit like 4 years ago when Englands final was stuffing the All Blacks I think this was the Saffers final

There's too much anti English in here.

South Africa are incredible but there's always a chance, no matter how small :fc:

I think looking at the recent form of both teams and making the Saffers the obvious favourites and by a heavy score isn't exactly anti-English, just logical.

Of course, sport isn't played on paper, though.

England are probably going to break new records for the amount of times they kick the ball next weekend!

****ing hell what on earth are England and Argentina doing in a semi final with those two?

Still, good to fly the flag for Northern Hemisphere rugby. At least one of us has made it this far.

TBF the draw opened up for England in a way that would even make Gareth Southgate envious.

Considering the amount of quarter finals New Zealand have been involved, their media were saying the NZ Ireland match was one of the best quality quarter finals of all time. But this SA France match tops it for me.

The other were entertaining too of course, a cracking quarters all round.

You're on your own here. None of the "home" countries want you to win and I'd rather crawl over broken glass than see England win 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

Poor boy….can’t take the shit or the pain, don’t arse around..

On my own…I reckon the whole of England stand with me…

There is more of us than you,and we would be the last in Rugby groups,

that would not  of supported Sexton or Ireland…Bigger or Wales..

Even DuPont & France..!!

Smells of football-attitudes..support.

If hating the English…carry on who cares.

.You support LCFC,so there is good in you somewhere..:P

Plus S.Africa in their greatness, knew how to play too much of the darks arts..

Forearm tackles,not pulled up..

Deliberately using bent arm with forced hand-offs,not pulled up..

Offside, not pulled up,..in going over the top deliberately stopping France getting clean ball off the floor..

Difference between SH & NH..refs.

Shame..the boks have a great quick attacking  team..

No I don’t see England team or more of our individuals,

being disciplined ,quick or skillfull enough, than the Boks, and the Boks have more Initiative & imagination in their alround play…but sport and hope is

eternal..

It's quite close between France, NZ, Ireland and SA quality wise. Wouldn't surprise me to see Ireland and France win their groups but get beat by NZ /SA in the quarters. As you say France have to be slight favourites due to home advantage.

No Sexton for our warm ups for his deserved ban.

More importantly, I discovered last week that I've got something on at the same day and time as the rugby world cup final that I cant get out of unless I upset some very close people. Great.

South Africa are going to proper snore their way to another WC lets face it

Still think its going to be a NZ SA final

:(

Guess I was wrong about Saffers snoring their way along though.

That  blocked French conversion proved vital then !

I think the final penalty to SA was more pivotal. Replays showed the SA player had his hands on the ground, which meant it should've been a French pen instead. Huge wrong call.

Agree.

My lot? What brings you to that conclusion?

Law of averages? I assume everyone on here is English unless I know otherwise tbf. Statistically likely.

But if you're as Welsh as Gareth Anscombe that's Welsh enough for me. Chwarae teg.

Croeso.

I'm still in disbelief. Unable to process what I've just seen from both sides.

South Africa...wtf??? This is a team that opts for a scrum in their own ****ing 22 in the Stade-de-France, against France the hosts un a world cup knockout qf...ostensibly to physically wear them down! It's outrageous. Massive slabs of lab cultivated meat that are despatched remorselessly at will into the grinder. Etzebeth has to be one of the best ball carriers I've ever seen - a complete monster. Possibly the best bok in the enforcer/left lock position of all time, and his predecessors are Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield!

Also, how often do see a charge down? The timing and athleticism of Cheslin Kolbie. I knew that would be massive.

England have no answers to this.
