About time he is being seen for what he is but shame Cifuentis has taken this long to realise it himself.

Been saying it since we signed him whilst some posters were w@nking off to him when he has his 1 good game in 30.

Hes a luxury player, great when your winning 3-0 and want someone to control the midfield  with beautiful  side to side passes with no attacking prowess.

Another maverick, cant wait for him to feck off back to a Lobdon club like Leyton orient.

If you were saying he had 1 good game in 30 during his time under Enzo (especially at the start) you were hideously wrong lolsince Enzo he has been shit though.

Only had good games under Enzo because  we had better players for him to showcase his side to side passing ability.

Like I said hes a luxury player and proving that now👍🏾

Like a lot of the Enzo season, memories are skewed by the first half of it.  Once teams had us worked out, Winks and Vestergaard were largely exploited. Winks was fine when he was given time on the ball and allow to direct the tempo of the game. He wasnt even able to do that under Enzo for the 2nd half of that season as teams worked out you just needed to press him and Vestergaard, and the mistakes come.

Winks was poor today and his replacements showed how much effort is needed in this division when things aren’t going well. He’ll be dropped for Derby. It’s a shame because he has lots of ability on the ball but he’s not proving to be a player you can rely on when strength, commitment and aggression is needed.

Does he though, Jordan James has played more forward balls thank winks and created so much more and arguably he is more of a 6 than winks.

winks is literally vestagaard in disguise. Passes sideways and looks good when winning 2-0 recycling the ball

never want to see him or Faes play for us again

The future of Marty is entirely linked to Winks.

If he ever picks him again then he’ll lose the dressing room, if he drops him from the squad he may be able to survive

Poor attitude. Too hung on Enzo. Utterly garbage today. How can a professional footballer miss the ball when at his feet twice when trying to clear it for the 1st goal. If he's pressed, he bottles it. Lacks footballing mental strength.

He's overpaid, simple as that. Shame he can't have his contract cancelled for negligence.

Our best player by an absolute country mile- must be absolutely raging every game playing with 10 clowns  - put a shift in again and again - couldn’t have asked for much more considering the joke of a team around him

Nice to See Harry's dad on the forum

KDH made Winks look better than he is by his superb box to box play in the championship. He plays the ball a few yards back to Faes, ad nauseum. On a few occasions yesterday he received the ball from Faes in space, but instead of turning and going forward, he played it back to Faes. Chance lost to progress.

I can’t help but think the sliding doors moment for Marti was getting winks back in the side.

I was certainly one who supported it. But if you’re a player who was motivated to play for this club and you saw how faes and him acted…. You’d find it very hard to take that manager seriously again after he let them waltz back in at the first opportunity.

His biggest problem is his attitude, he's clearly got a completely overinflated opinion of himself and his own ability. He's a very average footballer who thinks he's world class just because he had one good game for Spurs in the Champions League once upon a time. He clearly came to us thinking we are a little club he could use as a stepping stone to get another gig at a big club after his injury issues and he resents the club for it not working out as he intended.

He'll be out in some posh nightclub in London tonight with not even a second thought about his performance today. The one thing I'll give Ruud van Nistelrooy credit for is that he clearly recognised what a little rat he is and had the balls to drop him.

Great fan fic of what’s going on between the ears of a footballer you don’t know.

(For clarity, I’m no particular fan of Winks and I do think his attitude is particularly poor this season)

Winks was always pretty average even under Enzo. The system flattered him.

75-80% of his passes in the championship and then premier league were sideways or backwards.

People saw how much of the ball he was getting under Enzo and mistook it for “controlling” the game. In reality we were so slow on the ball teams just let us have control and sat back watching us pass it sideways for 30 passes before either losing it or one of the wingers creating a chance. Very rarely did Winks produce anything exceptional.

Had some good games obviously but for someone on his wage having played for England you’d expect him dominating this league as the bare minimum. There were 10+ midfielders 23/24 that could have passed the ball sideways and backwards and not lost possession.

This season there have been a few games where he’s really turned the game around for us and injected a bit of life into the game, but for most games he’s been pretty average again, only this time our tactical system is of lesser quality compared to Enzo so he’s not standing out.
