Ok yeh play Aluko then. I’ve only seen him on the right or central but tbf I’m only really commenting on this preseason and season. He certainly can’t be anymore limited than Thomas or VK.

Awful.

Thomas was awful and tightly hooked at HT. Kristiansen was a bombscare and that failed shepherding almost leading to a second Wrexham goal was particularly embarrassing, as were some of his weak headers. But he got in the way a few times with some blocks and - this is the one redeeming thing - he made overlapping runs several times, which we so badly needed.

 

But Mav, Ayew and co. never ever utilized him even though Wrexham had completely stifled us.

Choudhury waited until the 92nd minute to go forward, which says it all.

 

I want to focus on some of the positives, because there has to be some hope.

Wouldn't mind seeing Aluko, but I'd also just like to see us use the strengths of our players instead of putting them in situations where they show their frailties.

Is Aluko well thought of in the club? I just haven't seen much of him at all.

 

Marti must surely be able to see that Thomas and VK aren't up to it and it's getting to the point that we have to try something different.

Well he's captaining the u21s and was featuring pretty prominently in preseason.

 

But not at LB.

Genuinely thought he was trying to give them the ball last night. That failure to see it out and header back across our own 6 yard box was horrific. Refuse to believe he really cares.

I think if kingy had got the job, we’d be seeing a lot more opportunities for these young lads. We seem stuck on a cycle where a manager has to get close to losing their job before they realise how poor the established players are.

There was a really half arsed attempt at stopping a corner aswell, where he should have done much better at trying to get the throw in instead.

 

He was awful.

Was half arsed in my opinion. Seems even worse with that bloody mask thing. Can we not hide it so he can't medically take part for a week or two until his jaw heels?

He's got a decent cross on him to be fair. Can't think of much else but there's that. I'd honestly switch it up to a 3-5-2 when he's on-field, tell him to f*** off the defending and see what happens when he's played further up the pitch like a Temu Marc Albrighton. He's definitely better than Thomas at that side of things. It's just a shame it's been a decade now since we had anyone who knows how to head a football.

He was awful.

Also recall a throw he took way too quick and just hurled it down the line straight to them. He doesn't do a very good job of pretending he's bothered. Insert academy player at LB immediately.

Doesn't even put in the effort any more. 

 

The defending for their 2nd goal was sickening. Was about to give up the chase and wasn't interested in tracking back. 

 

Not sure what he brings to the squad.
