I find it hard to believe that even with our useless coaches, players and managers, no one has told him to stop playing that way. Pass the ball and move ahead into space is a pretty basic skill set for a winger but for some reason he is allergic to it. 

 

He was questionable a lot of the time under Enzo and had better players around him but I can’t recall him being as brain dead. 
 

I think he needs someone to micromanage every aspect of his existence.  It’s conjecture but he must have a lot of yes men around him, no one to pull him up.

It’s like he doesn’t understand that this was the best part of his game. Being able to drive his team up the pitch. It was never the end product, to me that was a bonus. But his running and work rate was what was helping the team and consequently leading to more chances for him!

Maybe it’s just confidence in his ability but surely he wouldn’t have dropped down two leagues if we hadn’t had a verbal discussion and agreement on the amount of minutes/games that he’d get with us

Good. We've gone years with players being gutted that they actually have to play for us, despite it being entirely their fault how shit we've become.
