Kasper was a complete exception to the rule when it comes to lcfc goalkeepers. We've had literally dozens of shit keepers this century. Our recruitment and coaching in this area has been woeful.

It’s a mistake pretty much every game. Costly. We need to improve in all areas and goalkeeper is one of them, just a shame we have no money to do it all.

I was the person that bashed Kasper. Right now we have been brought down so low it’s hard to understand how we could critique anyone

I don't massively rate Stolarczyk but he's nowhere near the level of Ward  and what errors did Iversen make for us? Also funny you've put Mark Schwarzer as part of us being renowned for having class keepers because he was shit for us

He looked totally dejected trudging off at half time. The lad cares you can see that but the shit show in front of him is providing him with zero protection. He is not the biggest issue in this car crash of a team.

As was Ian Walker. He may have had good games for us but I can't remember any. We certainly didn't get the Spurs version of Walker. He was one of the early 'don't really want to be here but it's a contract' brigade.

Begovic let in 3 per game in his last 2 appearance a well. This teams defensive problems go way beyond the keepers. The whole set up is crap, the team's organisation and positioning has been disorganised all seaon. We just aren't a well coached unit in any way. The last time anyone looked like they actually had been prepared and organised properly was under Enzo.

Decent that we had Kasper about half that time then 😂

 

Fulop was really good for us. Always thought Henderson was quite underrated too. Weale was okay bar the odd absolute howler in local derbies. But yeah you're right we have had more shit than good.

with good defenders, he would be the weak link, he just isn’t very good.all keepers make mistskes, but he makes loads, Needs replacing , but i admit so do most of the team

He's been bad lately but Ward is the worst player we've ever had. It isn't close.

Just re watched it. Definitely no deflection and I don’t even think the trajectory was abnormal, Jakub was expecting the cross but still in quite a good position. It goes straight at him, at his near post, at about shoulder height and he’s dived like he’s been shot. Honking.

A shout for Mark Wallington from back in the day. Good goalie imo.

I’m reluctant to be too hard on Jakub. He is young in GK terms and in his first proper season as first choice.
 

The data shows that he is among the top performing GKs in the league for shot stopping and he is good at commanding his area and dealing with crosses. 
 

Clearly he’s made a few errors recently. None have cost us points that I can think of (for example Ipswich the game was won and yesterday we were out of it without his input). The defence he is behind is awful (Nelson aside who had a poor game yesterday) and the environment is toxic.

 

The irony is, people calling him L2 level, for him to be binned off etc and pointing to Iverson and Johansson were likely the ones who over reacted about them too and called Iverson non-league/shit etc. Weren’t championing them two at the time were you?

 

If Stolarcryk got binned, the likelihood is, he’d go on to perform excellently elsewhere whilst we bring some absolute dross in to replace him. Those over reacting now would then no doubt be bemoaning that we let Stolarcryk go and brining xxx in…
