He’ll be going somewhere tomorrow it seems so let’s wait and see. 1 1
Simonb Posted 31 August 2023 Posted 31 August 2023 A deadline day off McAtee and Cannon coming in, with daka, soumare and souttar leaving would be fantastic. I'm still ready to firmly plant my head into the wall at 11pm tomorrow though 1

Chair can cover the left wing which will give us Chair, Mavididi, Akgun and Fatawu as options before even mentioning McAteer and Wanya. He can also cover the No.8 role which gives us Chair, KDH, Casadei and Praet. Would allow very good depth. 6

I don't think he's a bad player but he's become a bit overrated outside of here, certainly on his performances this season. 3
LCFCJohn Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Of course McAtee will want to and be likely to end up at Sheffield United. He was there last season, helped them get promoted and to the FA cup semi finals and was loved by their fans. Especially for a loan, it makes perfect sense for him to go back to where he is familiar and have a season at a higher level. 1
Pliskin Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 What if we offer a fee? Sheff won’t be able to compete then
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 No thanks. its already confusing with our players having similar names of ividivi/ didi / vidi adding mcatee to mcateer will just be taking the piss 😂

If he has any hope of breaking in to the Man City first team, it probably makes sense to spend a full season with a side who are trying to replicate a similar playing style

He may know he is unlikely to break into the first team and so Premier League exposure will be important. And why is playing for us more important than Premier League experience in general? Or if he is choosing between playing in the Premier League and getting that experience vs Championship albeit with a similar style of play, the fact he will have had fond experiences of his time there is likely to be the decider. Obviously if both teams were in the Championship it’d be different. 2

Obviously if both teams were in the Championship it’d be different. I've said it probably makes sense, not that's the only thing he will or should consider calm down. He'd have to also back himself to shine in a United side that look likely to be involved in a relegation battle, if he goes there and struggles as part of the wider team being poor is the exposure actually that good.
happy85 Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 James Ducker of the telegraph reporting McAtee still yet to make decision - it 50/50 between us and sheff 1
kingpower Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 snippet of the Telegraph article. Sounds like it’s a straight shoot out between us and Sheff Utd

Finnegan Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Going back to the club you've already been succesful at who can now give you Premier League football trumps "Maresca knows Pep" tbf. Our brand of football being similar to Man City only really helps him if he truly, truly believes he has a future in the Man City starting 11 and he'd have to be obnoxiously confident for that. 3
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 The prem team will nearly always win. Let's get promoted quick and bring an end to this nonsense.

Minor. Go get Chair. Wouldn't fully trust him as a source unless it's regarding south coast sides. He was adamant Steffen was coming here all summer 1
Foxes96 Posted 1 September 2023 Posted 1 September 2023 Add to the fact he’d likely be competing with KDH for a spot here, compared to being the main man at Sheffield Utd in the prem it makes sense
