Is it just me or was the foul on Daka for the penalty vs Rotherham, outside the box?

looked just outside to me, would have been a red for their keeper if it was.

I think we had a penalty shout just before we scored when Fatawu nicked the ball off their defender in the box and then Daka had a shot?

Looked like one where he was definitely being fouled but it doesn't get given because he doesn't actually go down

Will have to have a look when the longer highlights are out

Thought so too. It was almost like the ref played advantage, hoping we’d score, but ref was scuppered by the goal line clearance

Even then though if the ref thinks it is initially a foul and plays advantage he has to go back and give a penalty even if we don't score

He probably forgot that rule exists tbf he was shocking today lol

I wouldn't have thought so - once he perceives us to have 'taken advantage' he can't go back.  If daka couldn't get to the ball then there's no advantage, but he takes a goal bound shot - that's advantage over, surely?

The real problem is daka should have buried it - ref's probably thinking, ' jeez, how the føkk has he not scored that!'

They definitely can go back, we saw it in the Community Shield a couple of years ago when we won it for our penalty

Not according to iFAB website;

The referee can wait a few seconds to allow a possible advantage to develop, and if the non-offending team does not benefit and gains no advantage, the original free kick can be given. However, the non-offending team should not be given two chances, e.g. a player is fouled but recovers and has a shot at goal; if the player does not score, the referee cannot go back and give a free kick for the original offence.

That is with regard to free kicks though, not penalties

I believe the rules dictate no discrimination between a free kick and a penalty... advantage given, played and not capitalized...

iFAB don't have it documented, but the general rule of thumb unless the attacking team is definitely going to score don't give advantage just give the penalty.

2 clear penalties and a definite red for Harness. That is all.

On the plus side, missing that penalty will enhance the ref's income.  A recording can be used to legally prove he is entitled to disability living allowance.

New chant:  Have you applied for DLA?

Actually.  It might not take off.

Harness avoiding a second yellow was poor.

Bottled the decision for me. Especially how it was 2 fouls in as many minutes, both avoiding a yellow.

Official claiming he didn't see the KDH foul, but that's what the assistants are for. An assistant should be up there about level with play to see that.

Wilf gets a yellow for tracking a run and putting him under pressure and their lad wipes out Abdul and nothing given.

Their first pen appeal was a good decision by the ref but not sending that guy off and not given that second pen was a joke.

The only thing worst than our second half passing and decision making was this refs performance.
