You can see why he’s not allowed to officiate Liverpool games and Klopp called for him to be sacked lol

Genuinely think we should put in an official complaint because either he's rigged it, or he's bowed to a little bit of booing over the penalty decision and doesn't have the mental fortitude to be a ref

No complaints about the Fatawu decision but Thomas should have gone (the pen incident). The minute you put your studs at knee height of the opponent you should be gone.

General running of the game and the yellow etc were crap. Absolutely bottled it due to the crowd which is embarrassing. It was Coventry fans not some European or South American ‘firm’ lol

It's above knee height, it hits him in the groin and KDH is jumping to avoid as well, completely different ball Thomas tried to play

I'm actually okay with both penalty and red card decisions...not necessarily in complete agreement but I can accept them.

The amount of little decisions that went Coventrys decision 2nd half however was abysmal.

I was more annoyed about the confetti of yellow cards for pretty innocuous challenges. Pen was correct call, Abdul red was probably correct call, arguably he should have sent Thomas off too. Didn't get the sense that he was like control of the game.

Influenced by the crowd which our barely interested fan base would never achieve.

That said, Fatawu gave him a chance to even things up.

Apart from the big decisions that turned the game, the ref tackled Casadei and then allowed Cov to attack, I couldn't believe what I was seeing and neither could Cesare.

Then he let that Cov lad on a yellow continue to foul his way around the pitch until his boss took him off.

He called so many the wrong way that I thought Winks might get sent off for dissent near the end.

He lost control and was dishing out yellows left and right at the end.

Awful.

Agree with this. I think our only

complaint of the two key decisions is how he has decided one tackle is more reckless/dangerous than the other to justify a yellow and a red.  Unfortunately the only difference is he’s just given a penalty and wanting to even it up.

Thing is, that confetti wasn't even consistent. Palmer takes out KDH from behind to stop a counter, no card. Winks pulls down their player to stop a counter, card. Zero consistency and honestly seemed like the cov fans booing the penalty decision made him bottle everything else.

Agreed. Think their booing of the correct pen call got to him and he bottled it.

The standard of officiating in England is at an all time low, you could say some of the major incidents today were subjective, but it’s the lack of consistency that pisses me off, the lack of refereeing consistency has become a serious stain on the game this season.

Didn't think the penalty was a penalty at the time, it was so credit to him there - Should have also been a red however.

Didn't think Fatawu's was a red but it was late and through the back of him, I'd probably been shouting for a red if it was against us, gave the referee a decision to make. Silly.

So the key point's I guess he got right, in general though, probably the worst referee we've had all season, for both teams.

Lost his head completely after the penalty and set about"evening things up" to the extent he fixed the entire game in their favour. And the decision he was "making up for" was completely correct, and by the laws of the game should have been a straight red anyway, was way worse than that one Vardy was sent off for vs Wolves a few years back. Appalling, absolutely the worst performance of the entire season, made Keith Stroud look like he knew how to ref a game

I suggest you get up to date with the Laws of the game, as a penalty was given double jeopardy kicks in and he couldn't have sent Thomas off for that challenge.

I suggest you do so yourself.

The double-jeopardy law states: "Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off."

The red would have been for serious foul play, not denial of a goal scoring opportunity.

Plus here's a ref forum discussing it:

Thought he was just generally awful on all elements of the game, no consistency in terms of cards, control of the game etc. On the penalty it was about 10 yards in front of me and didn't think it was a pen in a million years, but if he has seen the studs to the knee he has to send the bloke off.

Then with the Fatawu red you can tell the quality of ref by the time they give themselves to think about their decision, he literally ran over and couldn't get the red out quickly enough. Daft tackle but certainly not as dangerous as their fella for the pen.

Then in the 2nd half Palmer must have committed 3 fouls in the space of 10 minutes already on a booking, one of which stopped a decent counter attack and he bottled sending him, but was happy enough to book Winks for the same foul.

Just dreadful, give me the fella who played football at a decent level and understands the game every week rather than these school prefect looking nobs who can't handle a big occasion and buckle.
