Think Hamza is going to be the regular CDM who drops in to support our crap defenders. I know he’s hated on here. I met him once with my lad, he was in the U21s just back from his Burton loan and he came out to our grassroots team to chat to the U9s . It wasn’t arranged by the club he did it off his own bat and he was amazing with the kids. He couldn’t drive and came in a taxi (rumour had it his Mum was the taxi driver but think that’s a myth!) After that I was so disappointed to hear of the Covid stuff and drink driving. But I saw a genuinely good human being that day and I don’t think it’s ever as black and white as we all make out.

1 min 6 seconds into that. And people think that he puts effort in. He's just come on, and has all the time in the world to track the runner but is basically standing still. Hardly busting a gut to get back or close him down.

 

As awful as Skipp is, he's still better than Hamza which is bloody depressing. As I said above, that 1 good tackle will make a bunch of people think that he tries really he hard. He'll have a little spell where he runs around loads then he'll spend the rest of the game walking.

Exactly this is the reason for our downfall.

 

There is no intensity in our play whatsoever.

 

Obviously they're the best team in the country so they're going to be better than us but I watched the Arsenal game on Friday night and they were electric both with the ball (ever pass is with intent and at pace) and without it (on the odd occasion where they do lost the ball they demand it back with their pressing and harrying of the opposition)

 

Watch us on the ball and every pass is just rolled into feet... watch us without the ball and we jog around the pitch.

 

The football we play is painfully slow and extremely easy to play against.

Hamza isn’t a great player but to say Skipp is better is ludicrous. 
 

I would want Hamza out but the prospect of Skipp starting every game scares me more. Would genuinely expect a relegation battle if he continues to play.

It's not ludicrous though is it? You might disagree with it which is fine but it's utterly hyperbolic to say that. Obviously Skipp had a stinker but you're saying that when I've just posted a video of some of the most pathetic and lazy defending you'll see. Hamza does that all the time. At least Skipp would actually try to get there (even if he's miles off the pace). Skipp's got nearly double the number of PL games compared to Hamza, in half the number of seasons. Not that it's definitive proof but gives you a good idea as to who is better.

 

Bottom line is, they're both crap.

I will say this in his defence, he has never had a run of games at the base of our midfield that I can recall, and looking at his performance on Saturday he may have found a level to help what I hope will be a young midfield with Braybrooke and Page. Give him ten games.

He's played under Puel, Rodgers, Smith, Enzo, Cooper, RVN, Marti, Rowett and Martin and never had a run in the side.

 

Why do you think not one of those have given him a run in the side?

I thought we'd never be rid but if Derby put in a decent offer he has to go. The fewer players here from our most rancid seasons the better.

 

What we absolutely have to do is use the money to buy an upwardly mobile, physical DM.
