Not strengthening the team in January

But we have overspent last summer / got our maths wrong. It's about time the January transfer window doesn't cost us. Please get it over the line Leicester.

How have we overspent/got our maths wrong when that summer spend has resulted in us being in the position we are in? Would it have been better to miss out on a Mavdidi or a Winks in order to have a bit more to spend halfway through the season?

We got the maths wrong on Coady, that's it.

Jesus over reaction.

Would a new CM have made Daka, Vesterguard and Vardy not miss chances?

Or stop brain fart mistakes in defence.

This place has been like a kindergarten since we lost.

One defeat and it's a full blown crisis

Did I say it was a full blown crisis? We are still going to go up automatically. But I just feel we are missing a bit of guile and having another central midfielder would certainly help us, now that we have lost 2 options in the interim.

I would’ve liked an alternative LW option to Mavididi above anything else. We’ve got alternatives on the right but no one really to rotate with him. When things aren’t going his way there’s only compromise options (e.g. Cannon yesterday) and we aren’t able to use him as the occasional impact sub.

Just thinking about it, maybe we have a longer term plan …..

WARNING - FOIL TIN HAT WEARING CONSPIRACY

The interesting thing is, any club can be expelled from the Premier League. Each club has an equal share, so if 3/4 of them go for it, a club can be ousted. I don’t think they can just be relegated / kick out based on the defined rules alone. This was always the issue with the Super League. They only need 5 teams to vote against them, from the 20 share holding clubs

If Manchester City still continue to drag their feet, would it do them a favour if it’s settled this summer?

If Everton and Forest are relegated, they are no longer share holders, they can’t vote against them. It makes sense if the points deductions stick to both Forest and Everton, to settle this once registration has been sorted for next season.

Would any of the other promoted clubs look to expel Manchester City? Do we see a situation where Manchester City trade players for votes? We maybe get Doyle and McCater, Southampton get Harwood-Belis etc on the cheap. We then vote for them not be excluded?

Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal might, who’s the other two clubs voting against them?

Newcastle, Spurs, Chelsea etc wouldn’t want to set a precedent, so I doubt they’d vote for them going.

In turn, we are able to fill out a few squad places, easing the burden on next seasons recruitment.

To tie this back into January, maybe this has been provisionally agreed and with those signings, then Fatawu etc, it was decided that we just didn’t need anyone in January, as they wouldn’t feature next season. Any player signed would be carrying financial fair play weight, that becomes more of a long term burden if we plan on bringing in extra quality next season.

** END OF OVER THE TOP, RIDICULOUS CONSPIRACY POST.

Our hands were tied in more than one way so how do you suggest we strengthened the team???

Realistically, we were always hard pushed adding quality to the squad we have. We can add bodies, however it would just be pointless.

This topic is a reaction to yesterday.

All will be forgotten if we don’t lose to Leeds on Friday.

Yep, like the ones we paid for Casadei but would have got refunded when they ended it early

There wouldn't have been a few for Casadai if it had a break clause.

We are skint. We had to sell before we brought ANYONE in. We didn't sell so we didn't bring anyone in

You don’t pay a loan fee and not get it refunded if they end it early.

If there was no loan fee, we could find another one without one. If there was, we could spend it on a new one.

Either way we could have done something but didn’t

If we could we would have. It was obvious we wanted to but for one reason or not we didn't. It's no secret we are skint and running close to FFP so taking a risk on a squad player was never the right option, especially with the options we have available.

lol we are not "skint".

We are clearly just close to pushing losses close to revenue made over last 3 years, hence little spending or "sell to buy" scenarios. Enzo said it all of Jan.

Don't get how hard it is for some people to understand this simple concept.

You realise loans exist?

Absolutely and they tried didn’t they. However, you and I don't have a clue whether they tried other targets and failed plus the deal has to be right for Leicester City football club. You can't loan who a club doesn't want to release or who doesn't want to come. Just because no-one came doesn't mean there was a lack of effort or someone has failed in their duties.

Didnt see any mistakes in defense by players.  (high line under instruction of Enzo).

Some chances were missed but is normal in the game.

Game was lost on tactical naivety, Basically Carrick beat Enzo.

All these FT posts blaming players for tactical issues. ;)  It happened under Rodgers as well, week after week people worshipping the guy kept blaming players.

Thread is a knee jerk post though.
