Proactive DoFs try and bomb players out quickly when it's clear managers don't rate them when their resale value is still relatively high.

Whether Rodgers wanted to keep him or not we had to accept that bid, the point of having a director of football is stop a vandal manager trying to have it all their own way with short terms thinking.

 

Rejecting that bid was arguably the most stupid outgoing transfer decision we've made - this was pre-PSR rule changes too.

Exactly and manager's can keep picking players like this if they're sold or at the very least loaned. Take that out of their hands.

at that point thats a 4.6m loss. Say he's on 80k a week which was the sort of wage we're throwing about, that loss is basically immediately recuperated by a year's wages off the books.

Transfer market have him as a 20 million euro fee iirc. So it would hardly have been a loss at all.

Fair play, bossed it today. Its no surprise as he is capable, but we need to see this 7 or 8 times in the next 10 games and not 1 or 2.

Let’s be honest the whole issue with him and the mass dislike for him is because he’s more than capable of being a very handy player like tonight but will then go on to play as if he can’t be arsed and hasn’t seen a football before for the next 10 games

As much as I’m hating Winks and his over inflated ego, I can’t help but think he needs to partner Soumare. As good as Soumare was tonight, we didn’t dominate the midfield at all. Winks would have dominated it i’m fairly sure.
