what a huge waste of money this signing has been, gotta feel for him this time last year he probably thought he'd get his chance to nail down a place

Smart decision, Proves himself in the Championship to then slot into our defense next season if we are relegated. Hope he does well, Feel like he wasn't given a fair crack

It's a great signing for a promotion chasing team.

Don't remember him ever being overly bad for us, and his lack of opportunities last season were a surprise even if he wasn't a perfect enzo ball centre back.

£15m paid for him and his game time for us:

16 appearances

13 starts

1,179 minutes played

13.1 90s

Seemingly couldn’t even get at least an option to buy into the loan deal let alone an obligation

Another brilliant Rudkin/Rodgers signing, we fully deserve these PSR problems

To be fair, an option wouldn't benefit us at all.

It's not like the loaning club is forced to bid at that price (like Bologna with Kristiansen). We're just forced to accept it, if they do.

An obligation would've benefited us however.

Another one we can chalk up to Rodgers's total inability to create a defence that could defend set pieces. The answer seemingly being to sign the biggest bloke we can... see Vestergard and Souttar. Despite insisting on a high line and then continually hanging his defenders out to dry. What a joker.

Are you not aware there's a board above him? He won't have seen the finances nor the scouting report!

Hes a much better player the Wout Faes, yet hes still here because he can pass it. Hes honestly one of the worst defenders ive ever seen.

He's really not and no evidence to suggest. A Stoke friend who's watched souttar alot more than we have told me he's quite good in a 5 sweeping up but horrific in a 4. Countless managers haven't played him now and thst says something

And should have scored away at Southampton when we lost 1-0 with a free header.

Given the fact that Souttar is in the running for Player of the Season for the Blades (together with repeated Man of the Match awards for Australia) and we are (desperately) short of Centre Back quality, I wonder if there's any chance RvN will bring him back from Loan.

We can't, his recall option was voided after he made a certain number of appearances

Wilder said at the weekend he's hit a clause that means he'll be there for the season

Similarly to Cannon, several

managers In a row - including the one who signed him - haven’t rated him. It’s weird as both of those players have looked pretty decent in their cameos for us so far as well as on loan, and both play in positions where we’re desperate for options.

Well, hate to be a smart arse but we shouldn't have been so dismissive.

There are times he'll have been torn a new one. But, as a struggling team, sometimes you just gotta find as many little wins and advantages as you can.

6ft 7 defending and attacking set pieces (despite him missing sitters for us in the past) gives the oppo something to think about.

He never really had a decent crack of the whip. He was absolutely fine when he first arrived in difficult circumstances, won the first two games and then we had quite a difficult run.

He's been badly managed by the club..I'd imagine he's delighted to be out

There was a quote where he said "it feels good to be treated like a proper player again", no imagining needed
