He might have a point with it, though, especially as we should've had a penalty with the Mavididi incident and other things the referees didn't give in recent past games. Wonder how many points the club lost after such controversial decisions this season.

Cropwellfox Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 Yeh Ipswich away springs to mind. They largely even themselves out and Cooper blaming the officials week in week out just screams of deflection because he knows he’s got nothing and probably that many of the players aren’t having him either.

Harpenden Fox Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 It’s barely worth debating anymore. He’s so clearly out of his depth, and I think he knows it too. I think the squad we have is just about capable of survival, just, but we need leadership and ambition to have a chance

These aren’t clear cut robbery type decisions, match after match he’s blaming refs to cover his own shortcomings as a manager. Adequate managers don’t blame referees when they lose anymore, it’s not 2004. 4

It’s not just about passing for passing sake, any old fraud can claim they coach possession football. Modern football doesn’t just mean 5 yard square passes Football has moved on massively, not necessarily for the good, even as someone who enjoys a slick possession style, football has generally got a lot duller as specticle, but managers like Cooper just cannot set up a team in this era of football. He’s out coached game in game out, we look so far out of our depth, and it’s not just the lack of quality players here. Granted we have a lot of average footballers in our squad, but we’re hardly taking Brian Carey’s and Gary Coatsworth’s here. A competent coach would get them well drilled if nothing else. Cooper is a championship standard manager at best 2

funkyrobot Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 Poor people management again by Cooper. Vestergaard starts the last few games, plays internationally twice, comes back not injured and not only is he dropped to the bench, he’s not even selected for the bench and the sub who was on the bench when he played (Coady) still retains that position? How does that make any sense? Okoli’s passing was pretty woeful today. Vestergaard is our best footballing defender to play it out from the back. To bomb squad him tells us all we need to know about the relationship between the two of them. 1

Wonder how many points the club lost after such controversial decisions this season. And? Southampton should've had a penalty. Ipswich should've had a penalty. Wilf should've been sent off today. We've got off with enough ourselves. The general attitude of woe-is-me whining about officiating is as boring as it is pathetic and is a very blatant attempt to deflect attention away from the fact we're ****ing crap. I don't expect it from the manager game after game and he needs to sort of his touchline behaviour as well. The whole vibe isn't befitting of a Premier League manager whatsoever. 6
CPepFox Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 Didn't think referee cost us today. IMO, Ndidi should have been sent off, that challenge was reckless and could have had far worse an outcome. Not sure, Mavididi was a penalty. Can see both sides of argument though. There was relatively no fight in club from opening minute until maybe 38th minute. Then a 8 minute stretch of good football, followed by 43 mins of cowardly play. Cooper is not the manager this team needs.

You can also say we are lucky Ndidi stayed on the field as probably would have been sent off midway through the first half by another ref
Bilo Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 I'm not even bothered if the football is attractive to watch. Southampton are trying to play attractive possession football and they're rapidly being cut adrift. Burnley were the same last season. What I am bothered about is being effective. If we play slightly agricultural football that gets results, that's fine for this season. We'd need to evolve in time, but needs must in the short run. But right now the football is both honking AND ineffectual. We can do better and we should be. 2
moore_94 Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 I have seen absolutely nothing so far to make me believe that there is even an infinitesimal chance that we can put any of the issues right with this clown in charge
OadbyBlue Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 He’s been saying that every game this season. 1
jayfox26 Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 For me, we all fully expected a tough season and a relegation battle. I can absolutely accept we will lose more than we'll win and I can accept losing to Man U and Chelsea etc. But what I can't accept is the garbage performances where we offer nothing. Both Man U and Chelsea are defensively dreadful and we've barely laid a glove on either. A new manager may not keep us up but I'm convinced that any half decent manager would have us putting up more of a fight than the utter shite we're witnessing at the moment. The last 4 league games have been an abomination. Forest was embarrassing, Ipswich we were awful and scraped a late draw after they had a sending off and then Man U and today have also been completely woeful. Like i said, could accept these results if we were having a go and just a bit unlucky but we're not, we're completely and utterly useless!

The funny thing is that it's poor refereeing that is keeping us from being bottom. We'd have probably lost at Ipswich and Southampton should the referees have done their jobs properly and given them a penalty each. 2
sdb Posted 23 November 2024 Posted 23 November 2024 Worrying that it's now 15 weeks on the bounce of "working harder". How ****ing slack were things 4 months ago and at what point will we be working hard enough to look like a competitive and drilled football team?

Ipswich also had a very good penalty shout overlooked. We’ve had some very lucky decisions go our way. 2

It’s actually embarrassing to have no recognisable tactical plan or playing style. His team selections are all over the place. Get him gone ASAP 3
