Three promoted teams getting relegated two seasons running is a shocking indictment for the league isn’t it? Like somewhere something is going badly wrong. Other fans just pass it off that us, Ipswich, Burnley, Luton, sheff United and Southampton are terrible teams but there has to be more to it.

The crazy thing is Southampton and us being dragged into this cycle considering that on paper neither of us are typical newly promoted sides since we've were in the premier league for 11 and 9 seasons respectively before going down. At the risk of oversimplifying things considering our recrutiment and how we are ran, did we both just get relegated at the wrong time? Would we have got away with it in other seasons?

Yeah, you can include Leeds in that too. It was catastrophic for all three of us. There’s now clearly a ‘Prem-Champ lite’ of team who will probably jump between the two leagues for another few years such is the gap.

Leeds weren’t that established though and stayed up on the final day the year before

Watching MOTD Pickford got away with a studs first tackle in his his area.

Definitely seen fouls given for them.

Yes and didn’t MotD also say VAR put it down as a save (action) when reviewed, bloody ridiculous it wasn’t a Schmeichel style legs spread type of save it was studs 1st if I catch you I’m going to hurt you type of save.

Same with the punch clearance type saves when it goes wrong and they clatter someone’s head they get away with it because they are deemed trying to make a punch save but if they missed the ball and hit a head it’s a bloody foul surely, otherwise any outfield tackle foul should be let off if that’s not the case because “ref I tried to get the ball but I missed and got his leg sorry “

There is, the EPL has become higher quality than it was a few years ago, hence the bigger gap.

Look at the managers employed now by much of the league, and the money been spent, players coming in.

It was starting to happen just as we got relegated, we picked an absolutely awful time to stand still.

There is also far more pressing now.

At the same time the 3 the season before are currently in the top half

I'm amazed they didn't give a pen for that, if the player hadn't hurdled him he would've been clattered and could well have had a broken leg.

Anywhere else on the pitch someone goes in like that with so little control and it's a straight red no questions asked. He's incredibly lucky imo.

Just seen ref watch and even Dermot has broken ranks and said it was a pen

Credit where credits due, many clubs/players are a credit to their club and community this time of year. So many give their time or money to help those in need, and many don't put it out there.

Non-league clubs especially can be incredible, opening doors for those who maybe alone on Xmas day

Who's everyone going for - A Manchester City or Everton victory?

Don't want City to win given we play them next, but Everton are our direct relegation rivals... Tough one to take, but I reckon a draw maybe...?
