Is this the kid there was a video of last year where he was running rings round people. I vaguely remember a young kid in a leicester top absolutely rinsing everyone he played against

It's not so much the skills that impress me, they'll get coached out of him no doubt, it's more the vision the lad has for a forward pass. It was what I first noticed about Mahrez in his early days.

For me, it's how quickly he shifts the ball out of his feet for a shot. 3 goals in there where he barely moves the ball but enough, and in such a shift motion that it's unplayable. And I'm talking about world class defenders would have no chance with that (obviously would have ways to stop him before that).

So I've seen that, you've rightly commented on his vision and there's many more things that stand out. Hope he gets a chance here because he looks like he's got it all.

The physicality he has already to ride challenges from fully grown men in the most surprising thing I’ve seen

No, that lad is still about 11

There's been some recent videos put together on Monga, shown below.

Very impressive. I guess he's one of the most highly rated youngsters in the country, never mind Leicester.

Will be interesting to watch his progress.

Move heaven and earth to convince him to stay Leicester. Cooper needs to be alert to the consequences of his short term decisions too. Not easy but we cannot allow this.

Meanwhile we're lining up with Bobby Reid and Jordan Ayew on the wings.

Not that easy ric - all depends on the kid, his family and their advisors (although strictly speaking he shouldn’t have an agent yet)

You’d assume that the club would have a development plan mapped out for him and would be working closely with the family on it.  But who knows?  It certainly didn’t work with nyoni or the kid that went to Man City

you can understand more successful clubs struggling to convince that their boy will feature in the first team squad  by 17 y o.   However,  we see it at those clubs but we seem incapable of doing it.

Man City, liverpool, arsenal have all played 16 or 17 y o in their first teams this season.

If he's as good as you lot claim then the club has to move heaven and earth to keep him. Would be very embarrassing for this to happen again and you'd have to question why we've built a state-of-the-art academy and training ground for £100m.

That's a potential £50m+ asset right there.

Cooper's already plotting how he can  block his path way next season with Ashley Young and Leighton Baines playing as high full backs.
