As a counter, Ricardo lost the ball unforced error for switch of possession that led to them scoring.  That incident showed how biased the fan base is or they not looking that far back in play prior to goals been conceded.

If you're wanting to apportion blame for the goal I'm not sure you need to look that far back given Buonanotte tries to skin someone on the edge of his own box and then Justin shanks it straight to their player

As predicted barely anyone has noticed the original unforced mistake (Ricardo) which changed possession over.

I actually did notice and he was definitely at fault. However he’s hardly played and can be forgiven some rustiness. He’s certainly not set the first half alight but I’d still pick him every single game.

Full backs is definitely our week point. Ricardo can be excused as he's had no game time but JJ and VK aren't quite there. Shame as I really like JJ

Not a bad half. Awful goal to concede. Ricardo, Buonanotte and JJ all at fault. Fats off it at the moment. But some nice play. Great goal and Mads with brilliant save.

They are doubling and tripling up on Fats. Need to quick switch across to other wing when they do that.

Looks a lot like Enzo ball to me  'playing like Man City.' Lol.

Happy with the first half.

This is a big step up for Cooper, using Ricardo as an inverted full back in a system Cooper has not used before. Well done to his open-mindedness.

Ricardo started the move that resulted in our goal too.

I said any manager that uses Ndidi as DCM does not know modern football. So now he has moved him back to AM. Nice. Although I would like to see Bilal coming in for him at some stage in the second half if we are chasing for a goal.

Fatawu and Bounuette (apart from his one brain fart trying to dribble out of the box) have again been excellent.

Winks is back to his best with Ricardo next to him.

Justin is having a mare though - he is getting beaten time and time again on the left and it was his non-clearance that resulted in the goal against us. Maybe Kristiansen can come in for him? He is faster and stronger.

Mavididi has been too lazy defensively so he needs to pick it up.

Defensively we are in control with the midfield quickly recovering the ball time and time again, however, once it got into our half, there were too many lapses of concentration: Bounuette trying to dribble out; Justin getting cooked; Ndidi passing back to the opposition; to name a few examples.

A good first half.

Why isn’t Fatawu not going outside and cutting it back? Directive? He has had some success that way, and we saw him do it in the training vids

Decent half

Terrible goal to concede, against the run of play

Of course he's not Prime Ricardo, but he's doing OK

Both wingers having hit-and-miss games so far but I hope he keeps them on because we've looked balanced and dangerous going forward, something will happen

Buonanotte with these two either side of him - it's not gelled yet but the potential is delicious

I think we'll be even better second half. Until we have to make subs at least. Happy to see us reverting to this setup allowing Ricardo a game and Winks to flourish. If Mav and Fats sharpen up, we're running away with this :fc:

Ricky hasn't been great, but he's freeing up pressure on Winks a lot. Someone mentioned that all the passing lanes to him seem cut off, and asked how Forest could have prepped for that. I wonder if it's because that was intended for Winks, but Ricky being alongside him means he has ended up the target...interesting tactical elements to keep an eye on.

He's been doubled up on and pressed quite a bit, they're obviously aware of the threat

To be honest I am not blame a player person, but I think it has to the point JJ is getting bullied by this forum, so I felt that bit needed posting.

Ricardo lost the ball due to an unforced error, not sure what he was trying to do, and we just couldnt clear it and win it back, they eventually scored, later on of course Buonanotte  tried to do something fancy in our own box which was silly.

I wouldnt drop either of those players though because of mistakes, and I see it as a team game.

Said before, everyone calling for Ricky but he's short of game time and match fitness...be careful what you wish for

Maybe there's a reason he hasn't been playing or got a transfer away. He isn't the Ricky of 3-4 years ago. Ndidi and Vardy aren't either but the drop of isn't as vast. Ndidi has done some good stuff that first half.

Fatawu makes a massive difference, and offensively he's not even on it.  He is available and ready to run at them every time we have the ball. Despite that not bearing fruit so far, it scares the absolute shit out of them.  All he needs to do now is mix it up more. Go outside.  I think the fudge up  where he rolls it for Buo who isn't making that run stems from the link up he had with Wilf last season. They did that a lot, but they're not on the same wavelength yet.

We've pressed as a team at times, passed it through the lines. We've looked like a cohesive unit. This is much better.  We look like we're playing for 3 points instead of being happy with what we've got which has been my biggest gripe with Cooper.  We've conceded from a sloppy passage of play, but I prefer that to just sitting in a shell and inviting them on for 45 minutes.

Carry on in this manner, we'll be laughing.  Hopefully tonight, but over the season I'm sure of it.

They haven't been great, we need a full back ideally one that can play both sides, Forest are a bottom half club, we will play against far better wingers. Hopefully one of either Justin or Ricardo plays themselves into form but I can't see both doing it.

Yeh I think we need a new full back in January. Aside from the worrying form of Justin and Ricardo not playing well tonight, they are both injury prone and I can't see them both going all season with no injuries. The thought of having to play Thomas doesn't fill me with any confidence.

It does make it a little easier to find winks but they have definitely got another midfielder pushed up into that press position than would be expected
