I resonate with a lot on this thread. I’ve stopped going to games I would otherwise attend. Sick of him, and just feel apathy when we concede because it’s inevitable.

He has to go now. I would chip in to a banner at next home game, and I’m going to that one. Chelsea will batter us and it’ll get ugly. If it’s a thrashing and the crowd turn I think they board might act, but we have to play our part.

Football being increasingly commercialised but now to an obscene level, plus us being dull on the pitch, a shambles off it and joining in the fans are customers brigade all coming together means the only reason I've kept the st's is fear of not getting them again.

It's force of habit now rather than an active pursuit of something I enjoy.

I feel so dis associated with Leicester to the point where I was just going to go England home and away and maybe do the odd non league game here and there.

So angry with the way that the club's been ran in recent years. We were arguably the best ran club in the country at one point now we are a right mess.

I don't know how many of you listen to the high performance podcast but give Paul Barber(Brighton CEO) one a listen - makes you even more angry comparing it to our clubs failings.

Heads need to wobble at our club, even if we go back to black and start again.

less than 3mins in, you need the right people in the right positions, clearly something the club hasnt got a clue onlol

Atrocious mate. To be fair though what could we sing about that could get us going. There were a few minutes of constant chants and then that's it.

Wish the "Cooper sort it out" got going

Plus as anyone noticed that less people are posting here than they used to, is there a coincidence.

Usually it's at times like these that the comments really take off. I know that when I first posted it was during one of the many dire Leicester seasons.

Personally not noticed it and I think the reason for that is because it isn't happening. Now, if we were mid-table, then people wouldn't have much to post about.

Isn't that basically the epitome of being a football fan? If people only went to watch enjoyable football, every league would have half their teams playing with no crowds.

I understand that the clubs commercial/marketing functions are certainly seeing the fan disinterest.

People are buying less. Whether that's in the club shop or tickets etc....and they're saying that the club has lost a togetherness.

There are obviously a lot of factors but I can't help but think if our identity on the pitch was something to be proud of - things might be easier?

As a fan base, we’ve had a Rollercoaster of a ride and it’s now levelled back out to what it once was.

Outside of a European Competition, we’ve completed football.

Once you hit the top of the mountain, what do you do next?

Like addicts going cold turkey, we want more of what we had and it’s upsetting when we don’t get it.

Is football over saturated - yes

Is football more commercial - yes

Do some fans like this version of football - yes

Do some fans dislike this version of football - yes

It is evolving, just go on the ride. We can’t change it.

I’m not in love with the game like I was 10 years ago.

I care, however I no longer go out of my way to attend, watch or hold the same emotional attachment, win, lose or draw.

This isn’t unique to Leicester by the way. Go onto any fan forum, they’re all going through the same.

I’m actually surprised something like 6 a side football hasn’t gained more traction with shorter games etc, with the younger demographic having shorter attention spans. Maybe not one For the die hard fans on here, however you only need to look at the growing numbers that the Kings League posts to know it’s a growth market.

And by the way, if you haven’t seen the Kings League, go out of your way to watch it.

It’s modern, skilful football, but “more fun”. A bit like Mario Kart to Formula One.

I saw a club moving in the right direction under Enzo. A clear philosophy on how he wanted the team to play, players buying into it and a fan base who could see what he wanted to do (even if all weren't totally on board). Lots of ifs here, but had Enzo stayed and been given the financial backing Cooper has had, I think he'd have comfortably secured a mid table finish. There may have been the odd heavy defeat, but I do think we'd have seen a team playing with a purpose and structure. Appointing Cooper has set us back years and my love for the game and my club, unfortunately, has diminished. I now accept defeat, even expect it, where as a few years ago a defeat would spoil my weekend. Sad to say, but I'm disinterested in football at the moment. Not because my team is struggling, but because I feel sorry for the players who have ability but are clearly frustrated, as I am, about the lack of guidance, game management and coaching they are receiving. Added to this, how the game is being run, FFP, PSR, VAR, analysis to the nth degree, officiating, transfer fees, agents, dodgy ownership etc. has made football somewhat tedious, predictable and infuriating to follow.

The club has lost its mojo.

Enzo injected something back after the rogers shambles but when he left it threw us all back again into abyss of the unknown. We can get it back just need the owners to care again & be passionate otherwise they reep what they sow. Fans will completely switch off before too long.

Cooper feels more like an interim manager than the head honcho. We need answers and the players need better mentoring and direction.

I’ve stopped enjoying matchdays, unless there’s something social around the game, meeting up with old friends who support the away team for example. Feels like a chore rather than something to look forward to. I’m convinced that this feeling of being so disillusioned towards the club, as well as the insipid management at board level, is the hangover from the last few years. From 8,000 at Filbo watching Tony Spearing we’ve hit the most incredible heights, in all likelihood never to do the same again, at least in my lifetime. “If I hadn’t seen such riches I could live with being poor” springs to mind. Either way, prefer watching football as a neutral at the moment and like someone else posted get far more enjoyment out of watching my kids grass roots side play. Very sad really after 40 years of supporting the club.

We had our chances 3-4 seasons ago to try and embrace ourselves as a top 10 club dare I say top 6. But we didn’t invest and now we’re at where we’re at, with no real prospects apart from trying to survive on as little as possible between transfer windows.

Predictably a fair few posts blaming this malaise solely on Cooper but this has been going on for 3 or 4 years now. Slow decline to the norm under rodgers before the catastrophic collapse in his final season helped by incredible ineptitude from every level of the club. Followed by the most dull and joyless promotion possibly in football history leading into this seasons inevitable struggles.

Last season was the real clincher for me. The fact that my team won a league and I found it so hideously boring and unenjoyable to watch showed me that modern football just isn't for me. All the bs talk about systems and philosophies and f**king identitys can just get in the bin along with sky, big 6, var, the champions league, tourist fans and all the other b***ocks that make me genuinely hate the sport I used to love.

I feel exactly the same.  When you have no hope, its hard to enjoy the games. Best case scenario is a shit house flukey win in a game like that.... or any game with the way weve been set up.

My wife came downstairs expecting me to be stropping and it was like nothing had happened. I wasnt bothered because there was never that slither of hope that I had to begin with. I dont like that the emotional reaction is lost in me as that means its also less of a triumph when we win. I just want to get back to loving my club with all its flaws, but something just feels off.

Whats sad, is that for me personally, Enzo had restored so much of that for me. I really felt galvanized again. Just being part of a project was enough for me, but this isnt a project  as theres nothing that were really working towards. Its not a case of survive and kick on with Cooper. Its not a case of trying to implement a new style of play. Its not even a case of developing youngsters to help the club in the longrun. It just feels soulless. I literally just switch on because I dont want to miss a minute of what might be vardys last time with us and now even that might be stripped away.

Ha maybe. My point was it's the combo of all, I've enjoyed going to football even when it was Alan maybury and Mark de vries, but the other stuff added in just makes me apathetic nowadays.

Thanks. That's a gem of an interview.  Sadly still think the club is 2 or 3 seasons away from being back to knocking on the door for top 10.

I always said to my lad that we'd follow us everywhere as long as we were worth watching irrespective of results.

Sadly we aren't worth watching at all and it's a struggle to get him to go and I have nothing to cajole him in wanting to go.

A new manager would at least give us a bit of a bounce as this dreary arse is dragging everyone down

Football has turned for the worst, but we’ve probably been the most spoilt fanbase of the last decade really, feel like now everything is become normal again and it’s a bitter pill to swallow.

I've heard this so many times and honestly I completely disagree with it. It's not a base of being spoilt and not appreciating what we had - I think most fans agree that the last 10 years have been amazing - it's more to do with the fact that we had that platform, we had the opportunity to really kick on and cement our place in the top 10 or top 6 - regularly competing for the European spots, Going far in the cups etc. For me the start of the decline was the failure of getting that last champions league spot and the recruitment thereafter, spending silly money on quite frankly mediocre players (albeit a couple of decent ones). The attitude of "oh I'm here now" and not striving to keep improving. The relegation season of "oh don't worry we will be fine, our squad is too good to go down etc etc" - this is what really pisses me off - we had the opportunity but we flushed it away. Now to get back there is going to take years if not decades. It's the ownership taking their finger off the pulse. In any sport, in any business, if you are not driving forward or forever looking to improve then you will fail. It's not "normality" - going back to where we were 2 decades ago isn't "normal"

So yeah it's not about being spoilt, it's about the lost opportunity.

So yeah it's not about being spoilt, it's about the lost opportunity.

We couldn't invest to the level required to maintain a top 6 position. That's the reality of FFP. We tried to buy the young, well touted prospects that looked good signings at the time, like Daka and Soumare and they just didn't work out. If we'd sold players like Tielemans straight after the FA Cup win like we should have done in hindsight, the owners would have been slated then for lacking ambition and selling our best players.

We are back to a level now where we have been many times historically. Fans do have to accept that and try to move on from the probably once in a lifetime highs we have experienced recently.

The constant negativity on places like this won't help people's outlook on the game.
