I quite like what he stands for in terms of young players and trying to install some discipline - he’s what we need in that regard. But I really haven’t seen enough tactically or in terms of game management to want to move forward with him. Wish him all the best but we need to look elsewhere.

I sympathise with him to a degree because the squad is clearly not great and the people above him aren't either. From the sounds of it he's still well and truly in the dark about his future a month on from relegation which can't be helpful. Unfortunately, he has given us so little reason to believe he is up to the task, or that if there is to be something like a rebuild he is the person we would want helming it. The way we operate seems to place a disproportionate amount of responsibility on the manager to steer the ship, and a couple of wins against two of the least capable, least arsed teams in the history of the competition is not enough to make me enjoy the thought of him doing so.

I find it very difficult to imagine we wouldn't be better off next season with a new face, someone who doesn't have the stench of failure and the memory of those horrific runs of form following them around. I also find it hard to imagine his compensation would amount to so much money that keeping him on and spending it on players instead would markedly improve our chances of going up - I don't think that argument works at all.

I meant Ipswich and Southampton will be challenging at the top of the Championship next season, and we've just beaten them.

I don't want a new manager until Rudkin has gone, I would rather keep the devil you know because Rudkin and Top are clueless.

Since they sacked Rodgers, we've had Dean Smith, Maresca, Cooper and RVN.

We're just wasting more and more money on compensation without any direction or long term plan.

It needs to change at the very top first.

But those results aside, what have you seen from him tactically that makes you think, he is most definitely the guy to take us forward.

Is there a connection between him and the fanbase? All I see is a fractured one.

You want to go into a new season with excitement and a fresh feeling, especially after the calamity we’ve endured this season.

But you go into next season with Ruud, will the excitement and buzz be there? You’ll just have a mixture of emotions running through the fanbase. Some will be willing to give him a chance, some will be feeling meh, some will be absolutely dreading it.

If he goes and we get Martin or Dyche, you’ll also get a mixture of the above lol

Regardless though, Ruud just hasn’t done enough for me to warrant a shot in the Championship imo.

What is Ruud’s style of play?

He doesn’t have one.

There's very few teams with a distinct style of play in the modern game. It's not a stick to beat a manager with in this day and age. It's becoming clear that teams will not have sustainable success by being overly possession based, pressing based, direct based, etc. It's about finding the right blend of all those things.

Ruud i think is trying to find the right blend, but fundamentally whether he was to be successful or not depends 90% on the current players and the previous 18 months of squad management. End of the day Ruud has pretty much not had a striker  or a centre back to rely on this season.

I'm not ready for a manager who has taken 15 points from 27 matches for next season. Woeful record and sugar coated in the last couple of weeks. Announce departure this week and let the coaches do the last match.

15 from 81 and 7 come in the last 3 games

I think he can leave with his head held high.

Clearly not up to a standard needed to keep this shambolic team competitive at this level but he's kept his dignity. Shame it didn't work for him here but we need to rip the bandage off with a total rebuild for next season. We can't be going into the season with people who have been so involved with this season's **** up.

The issues at the club run far deeper than with him.

Problem is NONE of the names we’ve been linked with are any better, it’s just wasting money we should be spending on player.

If we sack Rudd and bring in some shit like Dyche, Martin or Manning, fecking stupid back to square 1 again. None of them would create a ‘buzz’ going into the new season I find it unlikely the club employ anyone who does.

They had 2 shots on target. We had 3.

I do think we were the much better team, and am far more excited about our prospects next season with who we have coming through.

I'd like a change, but i would support giving it to Ruud. We've finished the season with some momentum and i think the style we are playing will be just right next year.

Loved Riccy doing the inverted stuff again. We look much better with him on.

Yes, our midfield clicked when he came on, some nice touch passing with him moving into space to make the spare man.

No decent names linked and Ruuds rubbish...

Kingy got his badges? If so, I'd rather just give him a crack at it if he was interested rather than the alternatives. At least he offers a link between the fans and the club

I think we'll still have a mixture of emotions running through the fanbase even with a  new manager that isn't Dyche or Martin until at least Rudkin has gone.

The gulf between the relegated teams and the championship is now huge,  if Sheffield are promoted via the playoffs then there won't be any existing championship teams receiving parachute payments.

Ruud hasn't done enough but regardless of the manager we'll be too strong for the championship.

If our finances are that tight and we're only looking at out of work managers then I would save on the compensation and strengthen the first team unless of course we replace Rudkin.

We'll loose players, but as long as we keep Nelson, Thomas, Coady, James, Fatawu, Mavididi, McAteer, Skipp and Winks we'll have a good nucleus for the championship along with Monga, Alves, Evans, Golding Stolarczyk and Woyo.

We don't like them but even Ayew and BDR will be good in the championship

Last time we were relegated we recruited very well and I think we'll still attract better players than most teams in the division.

I think he is gone and he knows it.

Top never once went to him, spoke to him, or even looked at him. So I’d take that as a him gone.

Saved me some typing!

He's not all bad but he's not good enough. I've not seen many teams (at any level) with less identity.

Build the team around Bilal, Monga, Mav, Abdul, Okoli, Nelson, Alves, Evans, Thomas, Mcateer....youngsters that want to play and want to fight

Any manager needs the backing of the board....that is where change needs to happen first!
