So you picked out a couple of poor moments as "not up to speed" ignoring all the good things that probably balance out the negatives? Such as the assist

His performance has been a 5/10 just like 90% of the squad today, just because there are some 3/10's doesn't mean he's suddenly playing well. 

Again, I just said it in that moment because he made 2 errors in quick succession.

Yes, because he's not up to speed with the flow of the game in my opinion, as are most of the players.

We need two better holding players to take some of the pressure iff if we want to play like this.

Feels like we scored a little too early and so we're happy to just soak up pressure and were in no hurry to try for another. But I'm happy so far. 2 days with the squad and there's a plan forming for the first time this season.

Ndidi just avoids the ball or when he gets the ball he just immediately bounce passes it back to Vesty or one of the other defenders putting them under pressure. A pass later and one of Justin or Kristiansen hoofs it up. No wonder it looks like we can’t control the midfield. This is why Enzo didn’t play Ndidi there and even Cooper saw this!

 

We want control and keeping the ball, drop Ndidi. I am sick of saying this and I will give RVN a few games to see this. If he doesn’t, I will lose respect for RVN.

Soumare has been better than Ndidi, I’ll give you that, but he’s still been poor.

Neither are good enough to be relied on in that position. They’re way off it in fact.

 

We are playing with two defensive midfielders, yet there is zero protection for the back line. West Ham are 14th and we’re at home. They have battered us.

Yep. Winks would make a difference but would like to see Skipp (as well) as I think he's tenacious but a little more composed on the ball

I know it isn’t ideal, but for a first game in a transition period, the opposition can have 50 shots and if none go in, we have achieved and can learn and improve.

I am simply giddy that we have a sexy name such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy as our manager. Still picking myself up of the floor on this. He looks amazing in our dug out and the players look energised. Survival with style is assured.

Being one of the better players on the pitch when we've played awful doesn't mean he's playing good enough.  

He’s been good. You can paint it however you like but I think many will disagree (that doesn’t mean you’re wrong). 
 

The tackles/battles he’s won so far might not look like much but they’re ones that swing the tempo or stop dangerous situations maturing.
 

To have some doggedness in the middle makes a massive difference, but we’ve been under it and he can’t do it all on his own.

If we scrape a 1-0 then no one’s gonna complain. But we’re not winning because we’ve been excellent. On another day we’re 1-3 down at HT.

Can’t believe we are still in front , defence is terrible and the middle are running around like chooks with there heads cut of  , our passing going forward is just woeful, hope Rudd can fix it up

Absolutely.

 

We look better than we did under Cooper. Resilient, hard-working and determined. They're certainly playing for Ruud tonight.

 

We lack pace, quality and physicality but are missing some players who offer that. Skipp offers the quality along with Winks, Mav is on the bench and Fatawu is out until the summer with Ricardo.

 

Once some of those players are back in, RVN has had more time with them and a transfer window under his belt, we could end up looking a tasty side.

It’ll be interesting to see what tweaks / instructions Ruud gives at halftime.

 

Yes we’ve rode our luck, but we have defended in numbers, challenged pretty much every cross and made sure when they’re in the final third we’re close enough to keep the players head down - so we’ve earned some of that luck.

 

If we can be a bit better on the ball and play a little more in their half early doors of the second half, it’ll do our confidence a world of good.
