Plenty of players to moan about, sure, I just mentioned him. I don't see the point in "rounding up" a players performance because they are the best of a bad bunch. So you picked out a couple of poor moments as "not up to speed" ignoring all the good things that probably balance out the negatives? Such as the assist

I simply picked him out in that moment because he made a really sloppy pass and followed it up with a clumsy foul. He's not up to speed, I said it. His performance has been a 5/10 just like 90% of the squad today, just because there are some 3/10's doesn't mean he's suddenly playing well. Again, I just said it in that moment because he made 2 errors in quick succession.

We haven’t looked great but we’re low on confidence and with a new manager who’s only had a couple of days with the squad. I’d be more than happy with a battling 1-0 win against the odds. Mcateer has been fine at least we have some kind of threat and he works his socks off Edited 3 December 2024 by whoareyaaa 2 1
don_danbury Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 i dont think i can watch us play like this. so bloody stressful 2

Will1981 Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Need to bring Skipp on for one of the front 4 we are being completely overrun in midfield. 3

Such as the assist Yes, because he's not up to speed with the flow of the game in my opinion, as are most of the players. 1
Popular Post Sly Posted 3 December 2024 Popular Post Posted 3 December 2024 We need two better holding players to take some of the pressure iff if we want to play like this. 5
ARTY_FOX Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Feels like we scored a little too early and so we're happy to just soak up pressure and were in no hurry to try for another. But I'm happy so far. 2 days with the squad and there's a plan forming for the first time this season.

He has gotten into positions to receive the ball and pass the ball forward. Ndidi just avoids the ball or when he gets the ball he just immediately bounce passes it back to Vesty or one of the other defenders putting them under pressure. A pass later and one of Justin or Kristiansen hoofs it up. No wonder it looks like we can’t control the midfield. This is why Enzo didn’t play Ndidi there and even Cooper saw this! We want control and keeping the ball, drop Ndidi. I am sick of saying this and I will give RVN a few games to see this. If he doesn’t, I will lose respect for RVN. Soumare has been better than Ndidi, I’ll give you that, but he’s still been poor. Neither are good enough to be relied on in that position. They’re way off it in fact. We are playing with two defensive midfielders, yet there is zero protection for the back line. West Ham are 14th and we’re at home. They have battered us. 1

But it’s not gonna happen overnight, just need to get over the line. I don't know why there is so much negativity All round performance was good imo

Winks would make a difference but would like to see Skipp (as well) as I think he's tenacious but a little more composed on the ball Edited 3 December 2024 by dmayne7 1

HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 I know it isn’t ideal, but for a first game in a transition period, the opposition can have 50 shots and if none go in, we have achieved and can learn and improve. 1
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 I am simply giddy that we have a sexy name such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy as our manager. Still picking myself up of the floor on this. He looks amazing in our dug out and the players look energised. Survival with style is assured.

He's running about a bit sure, but he's not up to the pace of the game yet. He had a moment in the 47th where he tracked back to help Kristiansen and put a good slide in, we got the ball out and he started to jog forward as you do, kristiansen got himself out of position and bilal watched 2 west ham players just drift past him and made no effort to track back again. Being one of the better players on the pitch when we've played awful doesn't mean he's playing good enough. He’s been good. You can paint it however you like but I think many will disagree (that doesn’t mean you’re wrong). The tackles/battles he’s won so far might not look like much but they’re ones that swing the tempo or stop dangerous situations maturing. To have some doggedness in the middle makes a massive difference, but we’ve been under it and he can’t do it all on his own. 1
RowlattsFox Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Let's see what Ruud can do to shore us up whilst still being a threat. We can't give that many attempts in this half and expect to win.

Bptiger Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 Can’t believe we are still in front , defence is terrible and the middle are running around like chooks with there heads cut of , our passing going forward is just woeful, hope Rudd can fix it up
Bilo Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 6 minutes ago, boosmanana said: I'm not really sure what people expected? We have a pretty poor team that's been coached by an absolute team of twats since the summer and they're bereft of any confidence. We've got a new manager in who they clearly all massively respect and they're all running harder and further than before. He's had 2 coaching sessions with them and we've scored a lovely goal. Yes, we're fortunate that West Ham haven't been even vaguely clinical, but we're winning at half time against a decent team full of players that would walk into our team. Let's all relax a little and hope that we can bring in some improvements in January Absolutely. We look better than we did under Cooper. Resilient, hard-working and determined. They're certainly playing for Ruud tonight. We lack pace, quality and physicality but are missing some players who offer that. Skipp offers the quality along with Winks, Mav is on the bench and Fatawu is out until the summer with Ricardo. Once some of those players are back in, RVN has had more time with them and a transfer window under his belt, we could end up looking a tasty side. 2
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 December 2024 Posted 3 December 2024 It’ll be interesting to see what tweaks / instructions Ruud gives at halftime. Yes we’ve rode our luck, but we have defended in numbers, challenged pretty much every cross and made sure when they’re in the final third we’re close enough to keep the players head down - so we’ve earned some of that luck. If we can be a bit better on the ball and play a little more in their half early doors of the second half, it’ll do our confidence a world of good. 1
