Not trying to sound edgy but is anybody else not really arsed either way?

A little bit but I think in reality we're going down anyway and we're likely stuck with Rudkin anyway. So no celebration from me if we dodge it again.

If a points deduction forced a change in ownership I'd happily see them hit us with one. Doesn't really work like that though with us. We seem to manage both the shit outcome and no response.

What will be will be folks.

im so disillusioned with the Premier League (super league) nowadays I’m not actually that fussed. I’ll love my club through thick and thin. Proud of how we stand up for ourselves but ultimately the fight is too big sometimes.

Happy it could be anyone but Manchester City getting points deductions day!

It won't be a traditional 'top 6 club' that is guaranteed. They're allowed to spend billions.

What will be, will be. Premier League isn't about football, it's about protecting the 'top clubs' while the others scrap around their paperwork just to try to stay compliant.

We didn't want a super league, but we have one now.

It’s like the Bank of Dave!

Find it very odd that not one journo has had a leak as to who it might be. There's almost always a leak the night before so for it to be kept quiet all this time surprises me. Whether it's us or other clubs.

One possible explanation is that the sources for those leaked stories are usually contacts within the affected clubs, not the PL. If no clubs have (yet) been told they’re being charged, there won’t be anything to leak. Or maybe I’m just clutching at straws in the hope that nobody is going to be charged…

I don't disagree, but I'd be shocked if no clubs have been told and it's been kept this quiet!

The bit that really annoying is it bang in the the middle of the transfer window.

It's a decision point which may effect clubs outlook in the window.

Yeah, and who benefits from that? And who's at a disadvantage? Smaller clubs needing to sell to comply again.

It's just a disaster of a rule. I really hope no one is charged, bar Man City

Is there a defence for the CFO, Rudkin & Whelan to survive if we have failed (again)? I'm not sure how much longer fans can deal with a lack of accountability or consequence for the people running the club so dreadfully.

If a deduction is imminent, the outcome cannot just be that the fans suffer the consequence. Heads have got to roll.

We'll get a 6 point deduction and then the club will announce Woyo to try to soften the blow

What would be more impressive if we get told we breached and a points deduction (won't know today as that is an independent panel) and then minutes later we release a statement explaining why we haven't and where the holes are. Then we say we are appealing and we will win. All in the open. Not going to happen, but could you imagine the chaos it would cause. Then announce a few signings to almost stick fingers up at the premier league.

Dreamland, I know

You can already see in this thread that a fair amount of the anger is being loaded and pointed towards the Premier League and the rules itself, rather than the club. The club will lean into that narrative and I think a lot of fans will suck it up.

No deduction will be announced for any club today. Only announcement is for those who have been charged.

Any deduction is communicated and applied following a charge appeal process, which based on last year for Forest and Everton won’t be til early April.

Adds another fun little deadline for us all doesn’t it. Hopefully Rudders gets a big plastic cock in his ear while Sky report outside.

Am I right in thinking we wont know what the punishment is today? Just that we've been charged?

Correct. We’ll then have 14 days to respond to the charge, which would almost likely result in an appeal. Today is just the start if we do get charged and the whole thing will take a few months until we know our final punishment.

I don't believe for one second that this is what the club will do for the simple reason no one at the club is competent enough to come up with any kind of coherent strategy. What it will do will appear to be the same thing, but that is purely down to its perpetual drive to whine and always want to say it's someone else's fault. It's what incompetent people do. It's what they've been doing ever since Top had his whine about not being appreciated by all the fanbase.

The defence is there boss coming out and saying "The premier league are a disgrace" every time we fail. Pretty simple really. He places all blame at their door not his employees.
