I don't think the Vardy stuff is based on winning the league, he was having a good season until recently. The rest is fair, especially the facilities.

Is it any surprise

Have you seen that absolutely horrid video they play at the end half time, it's utterly cringe worthy

Is there another club in English Football that lives in the past as much as us at present and on top of that lets it distort everything that goes on today?

Its like a weird hold on a section of the fanbase

- Can’t Criticise the Owners because they won us the league

-Can’t criticise Vardy (Not that he deserves much) because he won the league

-Can’t criticise Rudkin because he was employed by the club when we won the league

- Can’t criticise the players when we get relegated and applaud them off because we won the league in 2016

- Can’t criticise the fact the ground is a complete tip with awful facilities because KP won us the league

Could go on and on, it’s like wining the league 9 years ago has given the club some weird immunity from criticism

Is there a group of supporters who cry as much as ours do about our their fellow supporters perceptions of King Power.

The owenrs did very good so people like them, is this what you mean by the weird immunity to criticism.

It's not weird is it.

The relegation under Rodgers was / will be viewed as a seminal moment I think - I don’t think we (the Club, the fan base)have recovered, not really.

A section of fans can’t get past the decline from competing in European competition / Top 10 of the prem / being surpassed by the likes of Brighton, Brentford etc and a section worry about biting the hand of Kingpower and what the future without them would mean

I think it's kind of inevitable though - we went from being at best a yo yo club and at worst a mid table Champ side to promotion and winning major trophies very quickly. That means most of our fanbase over the age of like 22, which is most of our fanbase, can remember the times of stagnation and frustration and are probably just happy to have experienced that period of unprecedented success, as fleeting as it was. So I agree with the OP to a great extent but I think it's a very different situation to for example a club like United who had sustained success for a long time before everything went to shit.

I don't know about living in the past but I think some people have been living in a cupboard under the stairs if they think that Leicester fans aren't critical.  Even during the good times.  From wanting the Don sacked (correct decision in my view but misunderstood by the wider football world) to booing substitute players onto the pitch.

We have a reputation among some as being entitled, which I don't agree with, but to get there we must have been a critical fan base.

So essentially "we were in league one once". Meanwhile actual historical third tier clubs in Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford are consolidating themselves in the PL due to their excellent management off the pitch.

Now we have to accept the fact that the ownership are spending massive amounts of transfer fees and wages on mediocre players, jeopardizing not just our position as a PL side but the financial future of the club.

We need to get into our heads that at this rate of decline we wont even be a yo yo club in a few years time, especially with points deductions looming in the EFL next season.

Been saying we need to drop the Ranieri montage for ages. Let's move on now, we don't need to keep clapping every match. Wonderful as it was.

Especially as our current "captain" played a leading role in throwing Ranieri under a bus - and has done the same to several managers since, including Steve Cooper.

No, what I'm saying is that because we went from playoff semi final defeat to PL champions in three years, as opposed to the clubs you mention experiencing smaller progressions every season, it always felt more unexpected and therefore more fleeting. And that idea planted itself in the heads of lots of our fans, aided of course by the fact that media and the club itself did sell it as a miracle. I'm not saying I like that mentality or that I think it's beneficial, it's just inevitable.

I also don't think that our fans' apparent passivity is just to do with our 2014-2021 success. It's a bit of a Leicestershire 'can't complain' mentality too that I have experienced.

I don't get how the same people (because our ground is mostly STHs) can clap the same few seconds of Wes lifting the Premier League trophy every single match.

Some call the hierarchy at the club North Korea but that is seriously cultlike behaviour.

Totally agree.  Great achievement, yes,......but its gone.  Im proud we achieved it but lets be honest it doesnt mean sh*t today and I've seen it a thousand times.  I find it a bit cringey myself and dont join in with the mass w*nk off about something that happened ten years ago.

I sense a dislike for Vardy who is our “captain”. Which several mangers are you referring to. Thought we all wanted Rodgers and Cooper out

Shame he didn’t find a bus sooner to chuck Rodgers under, if he had we wouldn’t be in this horrendous mess.

Rodgers outers were getting physical abuse at Brentford a couple of weeks before he got the chop
