it’s a case of who blinks first maybe. It could be that he totally gets the hint but doesnt want to lose out on potentially millions

My gut feeling is we land him. There isn't a market for him in the PL, German clubs won't pay the compensation. Southampton were the most natural fit but they went elsewhere.

I heard something about the clause halving for Championship clubs so when we're in the next accounting period and officially a Championship shareholder again we'll sack RVN and appoint Rohl.

You'd have thought Top and Chansiri share notes on running a club into the ground  know each other which may smooth things over too.

My gut feeling is that we could get him today, but because of our delays, we will wait too long, McKenna will go to Brentford  and Rohl will join ipswich.

Rangers will decide on DA and we will go back to Martin.  Essentially our worst case scenario is about to unfold…. And to make matters worse, cooper is going to boro who we will get on the opening day and they will pump us 3-0

Please please please let me be wrong!!!

I can't see this happening due to the quoted £5m compensation. Surely if he walks Sheff Weds would still be due the compensation for a certain period after resigning.

The fee is a lot less if its not a prem/top division club talking to him. This is another reason we may be taking our time.

This alleged £5m is a bit mysterious. Doesn't seem to have been quoted by a credible source. Social media at play again, perhaps.

Can’t understand why people on here don’t understand why we can’t sack RVN and get a manager or sign anyone, they moan because of the shit we’re in and still want to spend money nothing will happen till July the 1st

I'm not sure this is what we're waiting on as I'm not convinced we're that switched on to know or wait till his compo reduces. I just think that top and Rudders are enjoying themselves and not worrying about it. It's an after the holiday problem.

I think we'll be in the bargain bin, freebie. Maybe now Carrick will be an option. Not that he's the answer

Rohl does fit the profile of what we need, I think and plays the correct football that we need. Hes proven he can work under pressure conditions and motivated players.

It will be Ruud or Dyche no chance we go for Rohl plus he would leave us if he got us up where as the other two would at least offer some continuity if we did get up.

There is also no guarantee Rohl would get us promoted

people wanting Dyche confuse me tbf, he rarely gives the kids a chance, bring in players who you cant flog or have difficulty too etc

doesnt give the youth a chance either

look at the turn around Everton had when he left

if we got dyche it would frankly not build any foundations for the future what so ever

Certainly makes a lot of sense.

If we've approached him and they've spoken about salary you can imagine that would probably satiate his supposed desire to go back to Germany.

Not to mention compared to being at Wednesday, working for us on inflated wages for a board that are overly loyal to managers will be a much more cushy job for him.

We’re a shambles behind the scenes but to managers we have great facilities, a young squad and money (not cognisant of our wage bill problem).

You’d have to be pretty scrupulous to walk away from it as an opportunity. Top and Chansiri are crap owners but opposite sides of the sane coin - one is too involved and the other does **** all which is probably a welcome change.

For Rohl it’s a good opportunity to work with better players and get paid probably twice as much to do it.

His big upside for me is he’s fulfilled a manager role at Wednesday rather than a head coach one - which is exactly what we need because of our dunces behind the scenes.

i know there have been bad decisions but i think there will be awareness of the compensation situation.  I know the forum thrives on hyperbole but this is  really stretching it.

Whoever it is, there has to be a focus on the youth because that’s what we are going to rely on for the next few years until financially we are back on a relatively decent level. I don’t think we are going up next season with this deduction so build for the future.

That’s one of a few concerns I have with Rohl, seems like the type of guy who’d jump ship at the first opportunity if a Bundesliga team came calling.

I guess you cross that bridge when you come to it, but he could well be Maresca 2.0, uses us as a stepping stone and we’ll be left back to square one again.

What we need is a manager who we can build with, or at least stabilise us again.

Is Rohl that type of guy? As much as I want him for his style of football, a couple of things don’t quite make him the perfect candidate.

We're weren't at square 1 we had some good signings and were promoted to the premier league.

I think that is a bit of an odd post to choose to accuse of hyperbole.

We have a proven record of wanting someone free with experience. I’m not convinced that Aiyawatt and Rudkin will be particularly aware of Rohl. They will likely not even look at the likes of Sheffield Wednesday for managerial candidates as they think we are above this.

We were left back at square one when Maresca buggered off is what I’m saying.

Then we took the wrong choice, and look where it’s left us now lol
