I think it would be great if we could get Rohl. But I do find it concerning that there was a few jobs going in the bundesliga and he didn’t get anywhere with them and then according to reports Middlesbrough wanted him. They’ve instead gone with Rob Edwards. Who is hardly in demand after what happened with Luton.
Maybe he is holding out for the Leicester job I don’t know but I just think it seems strange no one else has gone for him.

This probably explains it, wasn't he in talks with German clubs who probably didn't want to pay the compo or wages

all the other clubs went for other managers, and maybe they felt he wasnt the right fit for them atm, given hes still inexperienced in managerial terms

were Boro after him? i dont think they was, they was sounding out a few candidates at the time and plumbed for Edwards

It seemed according to reports that Rohl and Cooper were in the running but they went for Edwards.
I really hope we get him and as you say maybe he wasn’t the right fit for them.

If it is Rohl who comes in, then I'm not against it, I was just trying to get some sort of insight from others, as to their reasons for being so keen on him, and now a number of you have given me that, so I thank those that have, its been of interest to me.

As with all new managerial appointments it will be a gamble, if he does come in, but fingers crossed who ever comes in, is able to turn the shiteshow that the club has become around, on the pitch at least.

I have a horrible feeling  that the Shiteshow off the pitch is just going to continue though sadly.

I think you just have a different perspective on the job that Rohl has done at Wednesday to myself and many others.  It was much better than 'alright but no more', in my opinion.

Let me put it to you another way.  Name someone that we have been linked with or who is attainable that is better?  Dyche has the experience you crave, for example.  Would you prefer him?

Rohl heads the short list by dint of being the most attractive option.

pretty much are if you cant get your head around what people are putting in the thread about him

but then again I guess we should plump for Dyche who has been shown up by Moyes at Everton

doing wonders with the same set of players Dyche had

Am I missing something with Danny Rohl?

He's hardly ripped it up at Sheff Wednesday has he?

Yet he seems to be the name that most would be happy with.

he’s had absolutely terrible conditions to work under. He’s not been table topping with him because he’s had a transfer ban to deal with, budgets cuts from the owner and unable to bring any staff in. The miracle and wonder working is that they are not bottom by 25 points.

You know they will have Rohl and Dyche ready. Dyche favoured by Rudkin, Rohl favoured by Top.

Rohl tricky because of the severance payment. Wednesday difficult to deal with, we probably try and push breach of contract which makes things worse, and of course, Rudkin not putting 100% in because he knows Top will wobble at some point. Time ticks, and we are slow anyway.

Top loses the plot sometime early mid July and pulls the plug on Rohl, and we go for Dyche.

Rohl then agrees to leave Wednesday and gets an amazing job in Germany.

Fair enough. I think to appreciate the job he has done there, you do have to be aware just how much of a shit show Wednesday are, on and off the pitch. It has been a much better job done than it would look on the surface.

It’s actually another thing in his favour, the fact he has been used to working in a shit show. Aiyawatt isn’t as bad as Chansiri but there are similarities in terms of their character. Thin skinned, can’t take accountability, man child mentality etc. Rohl wouldn’t be phased I don’t think.

But yes, it’s always a risk as sometimes it either just works or doesn’t for players and managers and doesn’t necessarily mean they are bad if it doesn’t work at a particular club.

He’s not shit. Not the right fit for us. Can’t have one component of the setup standing out against all the others. Come on.

so dyche is then?

Did I mention Sean?

not but you said "not the right fit for us"

yet Rohl is a better fit than most mentioned

he wouldnt be one component standing out against all the others,

that would be someone like Rodgers

who would you suggest?

We really need a manager who is prepared to give some of the youngsters a chance & I don't ten minutes at the end of the game.

Ahh now I understand. You were born and have lived, apparently, without the ability to detect irony. Tis an affliction some appear to suffer from. You missed the whole point of the post and created, in your own mind, a meaning that was not mine.  Don’t worry. You will not be alone.
