Glad we getting someone player off our books and defo happy to be losing some keepers always found it werid we had 3 back up keepers never understood why we was hoarding so many keepers. I know it could mean  we only have 1 start of next season but it also means some young keepers will be given opportunity too.

Another to leave on a free that we had money on the table for

And another reason to have little sympathy with the club. We could have brought in fair money for fringe players but did not.

Can't remember the last time we sold a player we didn't want for a fee.

Rejected nearly £5 million pounds for him 2 years. Another one to walk out of the door in a free.

Absolutely unreal this, but then again we rejected solid money for McAteer too😂

I genuinely believe we have valuations on a spreadsheet and if the offer doesn’t match our valuation then computer says no, and I don’t believe the spreadsheet value is necessarily the PSR break even valuation, I genuinely believe the club place their own valuation and don’t deviate away from that.

My fear is the sales of Maguire and Fofana in particular have led the club to place inflated valuations on players even ones deemed squad players hence why we struggle to trade players especially ones deemed surplus to requirements such as Iversen and then eventually they leave for free.

Bit shit for Iversen but I don't blame the club this time for keeping him around until the end of his contract. Jakub was injured and we'd have had to sign a replacement.

Hope Iversen can now get his career on track as a Number 1 because at one point there was a very good keeper there.

I mean tbf we recieved offers for Iversen when he was our number one following relegation and we just signed an unknown Hermansen. Easy to say slate the club in hindsight, but that could easily have left the club short with an unknown being out of his depth in a new league.

Some of Hermansen's saves have been out of this world to be fair

Yes, now we all know what he's capable of. Could have easily gone either way before he joined though is the point I am making. We have seen many goalkeepers from other countries fail to adapt to English football. Had that been the case with Mads, the club would rightly be slated for selling Iversen for a few million and leaving Ward as the back up. As I alluded to in my earlier comment, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Sorry, I was just making a joke about how the bit I highlighted in your quote could have read as though Mads is an alien 👽

Absolutely understand at the time that Mads was young and unproven in the division :D

We are fortunate that we currently have 2 better goalkeepers and Iversen hasn’t convinced he deserves another contract. I’m not disappointed he’s going. The possibility of Mads leaving and worrying about Ward shouldn’t be a reason to keep him. Having a effective recruitment strategy should be the aim.

We were left short by Jakub’s injury at the beginning of the season and Iversen should have been on the bench. Perplexingly and alarmingly that role was given to Ward so it probably would have made sense to get money for Iversen in the summer.

we would still be an established premier league club had that moron Rodgers had not picked Ward over him for 26 games, hope he goes on to have a good career.
