tbf you can look at that another way, you are supporting the people who work in the ticket office etc?

how much the stupid idiots are losing per year we aint lining their pockets either.

I renewed, i always will, unless im dead in the ground, even then id want my STH renewed

Yea i get your point on that, but ultimately if flows to the top and a wake up call is needed and change needs to happen. I think they would make changes if they have 10/20% renew ST's because they would almost be forced too.

i don't have a problem with people renewing their ST whatsoever, everyone has their reason i suppose if they really want to carrying on watching the circus thats up to them - I have a problem with people renewing their season ticket and then moan on here about the ownership and how bad the club is run. It is pure hypocrisy

Funny you should say that, I was sat near the corporate area on Sunday and I did hear Rudkin mention to Top something about the immediate need for change and then mentioned the name Jonnyboy and something about him not renewing.

Makes sense now.

don't worry mate, it looks like you don't have the brain capacity to interpret my post correctly. Good effort though

He's good mates with James Maddison, bet he buys/rents his house in Notts that's been up for sale for ages!

I don’t think the board want to pay the £2m release clause for Rohl unfortunately so we are left with the dross option of Martin which is shit, Get these charlatans Top / Rudkin / Whelan and the other’s out of our club.

I can see why we may be going down this route. It's quite clear we have to be financially practical, as much as we want it, winks and vestegaard probably going nowhere, and we know they're good enough for championship football, and Martin is probably the obvious choice to manage more in the style that they thrived in last season, its crap but I think we're likely to see little incoming, and martin is cheapest option to manage the situation

If the club really do listen to socials then perhaps this thread should be renamed DO NOT APPOINT RUSSEL MARTIN, or some other plain speaking text to ensure the message is absolutely clear.

It is also probably our level - we aren't attractive anymore and we need to remove the blue tinted specs

I disagree..Relative to our position, we are very much attractive.. We seem determined to snooker ourselves at boardroom level but there will be plenty of on the up managers in the EFL as well as the continent who'd absolutely jump at the chance to manage us – Rohl being one.. At the end of the summer we should still have a relatively decent Championship squad..

Unfortunately by and large our board can't look beyond the end of their noses when it comes to managerial searches and love digging around bargain bins..

? Never played for Southampton.

You are correct. Could've sworn we signed him from Soton but no, Blackpool.

Which is why it's utterly ridiculous we didn't go for Corberan

Corberan might've made clear that he was going to Spain so compensation wouldn't have entered the equation. So many unknowns.

If the club are going for cheap then it has to be Dyche over Martin (or stick with RvN).

I don't hate the idea as he is proven to get promotion out the champ

He finished 4th and went up through the playoffs with the 3rd favourites for promotion once.

I don’t think that means he is proven.

Plus a 12 point deduction or more on his points talley sees him fortunate to make the play offs

I have had this feeling since it was obvious that it wasn't going to work out with Ruud that Russell Martin was an inevitable appointment at Leicester, I don't think i'm imagining the fact he was linked back in late December 2022 early 2023 whilst Brendan was still here.

We're already worrying.

I'd be very surprised if Martin isn't currently the leading candidate.

I don't want him to be but I absolutely guarantee the club do.

Potentially, but always appeared we went Cooper because he was available.

If we are doing the same again, there are numerous good options out there (Still, Tedesco, Farioli, Schmidt, Friske, Stephan) Dyche and Martin are both lazy picks.

I really can't express how demoralising I find this move, not only do I think it's a terrible footballing decision but it also just makes the relationship with the fans that bit more toxic, just as it seemed to be slightly on the mend thanks to the celebration of Vardy leaving and a couple of wins.

It's completely tone-death by the club, to hire ANOTHER member of the Southampton staff shows how little we're being listened to. Puel, Glover, Vestegaard, Bertrand and now apparently Martin, what the hell is going on.

The worst part is that we did it with Cooper, none of the fans wanted him in, they did it anyway, it immediately went wrong.

While I think we can do better than Martin, I think we might have to concede that the likes of Schmidt, Tedesco and Farioli are beyond reach..

How has it come to this  that we are so poorly run   with no one accountable,no apology  statements  ,nothing ,that we can't pay off shit managers and only get shit freebies. They have ****ed this club once and for all .All this bollocks  about self funding ,how can you do that with twats like Rudkin and Whelan running the show .The club ,not the fans deserve all what's coming .

That maybe but at least I’d like us to try. This appointment is such an important decision that we cannot afford any more mistakes. The issue is that I don’t think we really know exactly what we want to be and how we are going to achieve that. We just wing it on the day of the interview as is our normal approach to recruitment at the moment.
