This is ALL that matters. Two small children growing up without their dad. Why? Because someone disagreed with his opinion. I dont care what you thought of him, this should anger everyone.

No wonder society is so fked these days when people are celebrating the murder of people they don’t share opinions with. The tribalism is making us barely better than animals.

He showed contempt towards the families of victims of shootings. But you're right, his family don't deserve it. Stupid country.

His death is tragic. 

 

The deaths of countless others that he is directly quoted as considering as acceptable collateral damage is equally or more tragic. 

 

It's awful, but he is one more death, one more human being leaving their family in a whole sea of such incidents that far too may people seem either unable or unwilling to actually grasp and deal with.

I'll never know what possesses people to do things like this.

 

All political violence is shocking and abhorrent. From Jo Cox to Charlie Kirk, it's evil.

 

Ultimately there's one person responsible for the rise in the hard right and hard left taking over the political discourse: Putin.

 

It's he who's trying to destroy the West. It's he who inspires the figures you see spouting conspiracies and undermining social cohesion. It's he who has enabled these viewpoints to creep into the mainstream.

 

Pull back from the brink. Embrace your neighbours whoever they may be. Pull together as a society and raise each other up.

 

There is no room for hateful ideology, whatever part of the political spectrum your sensibilities lie.

A Republican Congresswoman has just said that he was exercising his First Amendment right, which is true. But she neglected to mention that the Second Amendment contributed to his death.

And yes, we have now reached the position of division where the blood on the floor is not just of people who "don't matter".

 

I fear there will be rather more before our species realises just how petty its ideological differences most often are.

Can’t see a lot of hope for the US, the country is so polarised it’s unreal.  I also can’t believe that there aren’t more anti Trump demonstrations up and down the country, with him sending troops into blue states, trying to rewrite US history, ICE deportations, trying to deflect his involvement with Epstein, Kennedy Jrn creating chaos as Secretary of Health. The list is endless and still another 3 + years of this shitshow.
