Embarrassing by the US administration cancel the world cup.

What if he just kills every team but the USA, what would anyone actually do about it?

Always the regular citizens that suffer when men with egos rule.

Basically telling Iran to not come. Well, if thats what you mean then no team should show up. You dont have to like trump or ayotollahs but the people for the most part should not have to be held responsible.

I wish Canada would just say fuk it, we are out.

I hope a leading UEFA or CONMEBOL team might say similar. That would start the ball rolling.

But I don't think it will happen.

I wonder if they have to prompt the AI that made that to specifically not show the corpses of schoolgirls after the strike?

Perhaps individual players may start to pull out.

'for their own life and safety' seems very much like a veiled threat to me. Release the MAGA idiots and see what they can do, much like the capitol attack

It’s clever language - it clearly is meant to be a veiled threat but also written in a way with plausible deniability where they can say “we meant from your own regime”

Interesting one

the Iranian embassy in London had a national celebration evening last month and foreign office staff attended.

this was after the January protest massacres.

should we have refused to attend ?

They treat it like it’s all a game.

I think someone else said it, but the USA doesn’t have the same scars of the world wars as Europe does, it was essentially a faraway foreign war for them like Iraq or Afghanistan was for us with no real chance of hurting them at home, of course sad for the proportion of the population who lost family members in invasions but it didn’t affect everyone in the country in the same way. They didn’t have the air raids, the rationing, the blackouts, the evacuations, the seeing friends and family members die, the seeing cities you’d visited turned to rubble, the having to kill your beloved family dog or cat so they couldn’t make noise at night, they don’t have those stories that got passed down by parents or grandparents like we all do.

As such, they don’t have the same cultural understanding of what war really means to individuals at an animalistic survival level like we do in Europe (or like they do in China and Japan). That’s why they can still treat it like a game like this.

It is also the case that they've had their brains addled by film and online media.

I wonder how many of the people in the UK who are supporting Israel know that Jewish terrorists murdered several hundred British soldiers and diplomats in Palestine in the 1940s

Those that did a history gcse or o level

so not many

If we’re going to go down the rabbit hole of British personnel  killed across colonies around the world then I suspect that the British will win.

Diplomacy is even more important when bad things are happening.

Odd thing to say when he’s told everyone it will be over soon and the wc is three months away.

I don’t think many people believe an awful lot of what he says. He also contradicts himself......... Not really a shock. Dishonesty & politics go together.

Indeed

I was being a bit sarcastic

but someone did raise the point that he could be saying it to try and protect the players as per the women’s team experiences in Australia

But again, that requires some thought

So we’ve eased sanctions on Russian oil, as they’re not killing people, to counter the inflation in oil prices caused by Iran.

Please can someone make that make sense?

Now we see the real reason. Totally in Vlad's pocket.

It's amazing just how incompetent Trump and his goon regime is.  Make things up on the fly, double talk, will do anything to deflect...People voted for this guy. Wow.

I was worried they weren't going to move forward with the report recommendations so I'm glad to see this.

Solar generating more then Gas and Nuclear combined at the minute.

Even more insane, then, that the price of electricity remains tied to the price of gas, and we have the most expensive electricity costs in the world.
