Lack of excitement around new signings (fans and dressing room) and half our players looking to escape. Horrible. Vicious cycle as well isn't it really. Players aren't immune to it. They see nobody coming in and they're going to feel anxious about it as well and be thinking about going. Couple of decent signings wouldn't have just inspired the fans, it'd have inspired the squad and given them some confidence. Most of them here now have only known an era at the club in which it's a clown car sliding from one financial regulatory problem to another. 17

Yes, just one big target man so Marti could unleash plan B and we'd be golden. But seriously, I really do hope Top recognises that even a couple of signings, and they don't have to be for much money just well scouted, could have a transformative impact. An impact that makes walking the PSR tight rope a bit riskier but I think a risk we must take. I agree with you though, I am not sure PSR is all that's at play. I fear Top is just not willing to put his hand in his pocket at the moment. I will be delighted to be proven wrong. 1

We have no negotiating position whatsoever. We’re not saying in the press we don’t want to sell or have no need to sell, because of PSR and so clubs know this and will get him as cheap as they can - unlike Hutchinson who lots seem to want, to compare this to that we should be reaching £30m+. I think Bilal will be better than him but the club don’t have a leg to stand on and all its own making, so we likely not getting the figure some of you think we should achieve. What’s worse, we’ll drag this on and will the be limited in time to sign anyone ourselves. You’d think it be in our own interest to conclude this quickly if we do indeed do need to sell to at least buy. Edited 18 August 2025 by Lesta Legend

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 I don't think getting hooked at HT at Deepdale was on his Bingo card when he signed a year ago. Many more days like this and he'll definitely be agitating for a move, if he isn't already.
les-tah Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 Might of been answered but is there any players palace could dangle at us on loan that improves us? (Not edouard)

Yep and once the window slams shut he'll have a decision, give it everything and get a move in Jan or next summer or sulk and watch his stock fall. Both his overall character and the firm hand of his overbearing mother suggest to me it'll be the former. I will be livid if we roll over on this deal. 3
DezFox Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 He simply doesn’t get hooked at half time for a bad performance, he has got hooked for lack of effort either in the week or on the day or both. He is basically our best player, you don’t hook your best player for a quiet half. You only do it to make a statement, won an argument or deliver a message. Things have happened this week, not doubt about it. I think he will leave and it will be about 22 mill.
Deeg67 Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 Quote “I wasn’t very happy with Bilal’s performance,” City boss Cifuentes said. “With players of this quality, I always expect a lot. “I was not happy with the whole performance in the first half, about the whole team, so it’s not just about Bilal. But usually I’m more demanding with the best players and Bilal is a fantastic player." Asked if he had explained this to El Khannouss, Cifuentes replied: “He knows very well.”
RowlattsFox Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 Bilal wasn't great but Marti must've spotted a particular incident. I think he'd be lucky if he gets his move.

His psr value is now around 16m anything over 20m brings marti 5 x that difference to spend this year (but would have to make sales each summer to allow for 20% of any fee ). Assuming we haven’t budgeted to sell BEK, if we sold for 22m then marti could spend up to £25/30m to stand still on this seasons psr numbers - but we’d have to drive profitable sales of £5m each summer to cover this expenditure. Otherwise we’d just push losses forwards. but the likelihood would be that we’d just ease off trying to sell someone else we’d banked on moving (like bouba and JJ ) Edited 17 August 2025 by st albans fox 1
mazarron fox Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 (edited) If you crunch the numbers, take into account the sales ie Coady, Ndidi and Mads plus the saving of wages, it seems to me we are not in danger of breaking further PSR but it’s more a case that our owners don’t want to spend, possibly another few mil in the coffers for Bilal means the owners can find new owners from a position of strength. All shite for the club and a couple of seasons in the doldrums is a certainty. I am by no means an ITK but someone I know works at the training ground and says the working environment is Toxic from top to bottom throughout the club with a WDG a F attitude from the hierarchy. Very sad what’s happened/ happening to our great club Edited 17 August 2025 by mazarron fox 2
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 The fact we are playing hard ball on Bilal, makes me hope we are now in a far better position financially to negotiate and look at our own targets.

I don’t think we are playing hardball as such, just wanting the fee that will cover the outlay of his contract for PSR reasons. He’s also young with bags of potential.

Popular Post JimJams Posted 17 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 17 August 2025 Fxxk PSR tbf. We should just spend our way out. Punishments don't seem to fit the "crime" anyway. We're getting the shaft for not filing our accounts and telling them to get fxxked. Would have been better off just overspending and saying Yes we did, thanks for the paltry points hit, now we've only won the league by a clear 8. 5
funkyrobot Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 Genuinely can’t see Bilal getting in to the Palace team. He's got some lovely touches but he’s got some way to go before his performances and his output match his hype. 1

Selling him and spending the equivalent, leaves us with 6m ndidi profit Mads maybe 10m after sells on, add ons. Thats not scratching the surface of what we done before and that was with the luxury of avoiding submitting the forecast and an additional 22m on the 3 year average for PSR. Zero funds spent and no loans in is very telling. Lets not forget we struggled to sack RVN £££££ 3

Flappit Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 5live match coverage for the palace game mentioned Eze appearing to spend longer than usual waving at fans at the end of the game and hypothesised it may be because his departure was imminent.
Pliskin Posted 17 August 2025 Posted 17 August 2025 They’re going to have to pay silly money for him. Here’s no way they’re paying £30m when they could go into Europe and get someone cheaper.

Liverpool just threw 30m at an 18 year old CB. Very few players out there that will be less than 20m and with Palace having the Conference now too they'll want quality. With extra money from European nights and cash from Eze and maybe Guehi too, 30m will be doable for them.
