You can't deny that historically our fans have only ever had time for foreign managers. This is why nobody ever really took to Martin O'Neill or Nigel Pearson but by contrast were devastated to see Claude Puel and Paulo Sousa leave

Amazed by the number of whooshes on this one. 😂

I wonder if he was aware just how disgruntled the fan base is? Would the boos at HT against Sheffield Wednesday come as a shock to him.

I like the guy. I don’t think I’ll judge him till we’re properly into the season once the window has shut.

He needs some players in

Stolarcyk/Begovic

Chiudhury/Ricardo , Vestergaard and Okoli/Faes and Nelson, Thomas, Kristiansen

Winks, Soumare/Skipp

BEK/Page/Alves

Fatawu, Mavididi, Monga

Ayew/Daka

Aluko, Evans, Thomas, Marcal

It's threadbare.  And we have more outgoings to.come

Did we have many foreign (or mainland Europe) managers before O'Neill or Pearson?

Just looking at the list -

Eriksson

Sousa

Puel

Ranieri

Maresca

Van Nistelrooj

Cifuentes

Prior to that, the most exotic we got was Jock Wallace,

I'm astonished by how many missed the sarcasm here.

I like him.

Our last 3 manager have been proper billy bullshitters but he seems to get it and be an honest bloke - famous last word of course.

Now, if we can just stop playing Soumare, Skipp and ideally Vesterguaard I'd be a lot happier

I agree I like his talk, now he needs to follow up with actions.

I like that he's given youngsters a chance (did he have a choice), and makes timely subs when it's not going right.

Performances have not been good enough and I like that he calls it out rather than a word salad that the previous manager would have launched into

Dealt the worst hand you could probably imagine and is handling the heat pretty well - I hope he is savvy enough to see who the chancers are quickly and drain the swamp - if he can get us a top half finish whilst re setting the whole team and loads more to go in the summer I think he could be the man we trust for many years to come - massive job on his hand dealing with the mid change situation of still having lots of the swamp lot around whilst trying to get results with what he has at his disposal - I hope he does well - I like the fact after every game so far he pretty much says immediately first thing in the interview that we have played cr*p - gets my vote for that alone - I’m hoping he is the man to heal our souls

We need to see improvements on the pitch. That first half against Charlton we looked completely devoid of any strategy, hunger or identity. As bad as anything I can remember under Ruud or Cooper.

Have been impressed with his in game changes. Hasn't been afraid to be proactive and make them early too. Got a few bits and pieces wrong, and we haven't started any game particularly well or generally played brilliantly, but he's still learning and has no idea what he'll be left with next week.

Guys a genius. Makes us look completely laboured and underwhelming whilst allowing the opposition to show off yet we win and retrospectively seem to contain the opposition at the same time. All with no proper preseason and half the squad wanting out.

Being hung out to dry by our useless senior management. Get him some signings.

Whilst the squad has not been refreshed, they are all new signings to him. It’s not like they have grown complacent to his tactical ways like managers experience after a few seasons and need to freshen it up.

There are talented players and youngsters coming through, if people are expecting huge upturns in performance by one or two new signings they may be disappointed.
