He had some poor touches you cant deny that but thats something he can work on. What I was really impressed with last night was his positioning throughout the time he was on the pitch. He was actively seeking out space and looking for the ball. Too many of our players are static and almost actively avoid coming for the pass. If the mental side of the game is coming naturally to him thats only a good sign and hopefully we can continue to develop his confidence and technicals.

He’ll soon get that coached out of him

He looked his age - nervous and keen. Not bad.

His performance really does provide the spotlight for Monga who, despite being younger, looked every inch more assured and composed.

The future is bright.

Page was fine considering neither of our CMs can pass a ball forward. This meant he had to come deep to get the ball and that's where he struggled, as he was getting the ball in alot of traffic. Once he matures and gets stronger, he'll be able to hold players off, but that's not his game now. He was fine going forward.

Send him out on loan

He’ll be playing most weeks, unless we invest in a new 10.

All it takes is one decent performance and these " miles off it " comments will disappear.

It's the same as the bombardment of posts slating Stolarczyk away at Preston saying he isn't good enough, and we're stupid to think he's an able replacement for Mads. Only to then have a blinder vs Charlton and the praise is heaped upon once again.

You're basically only as good as your last game.

Very true plus he is playing out of position as a 10 when I think really he is more of a box to box type midfielder. Will be class

I really like the look of him - got a huge future ahead of him.

I would 100% keep him in the 1st team squad this season. I don’t think he’s physically ready to play week in week out however we should be able to give him the minutes he needs to help him progress.

His task was also made far more difficult with Ayew playing 9 who drops too deep and compressess the game leaving Page and the midfield no space to play.

I thought he started well, plays with energy, good movement and doesn't hide from the ball. Obviously he'll get stronger with age.

He made the goal and looks a very good prospect. It's exiting to see Monga and Page getting regular games.

A big difference is that Page is playing centrally where it's far busier and you generally have less space and time. Therefore, his lack of physicality (he's only 17!) and perhaps naivety in thinking he has more time on the ball are more exposed. I think in sux months time we could see how good of a player he really is. There are many promising signs already.

He literally made that first goal, ran onto the ball, pushed forward and was direct, was even ready to take on the shot.

I think that goal sort of sums up what you expect from a kid that age at that level.

He did everything well till the past, which wasn't into Abduls run but slightly behind.

Abdul was quick enough to correct his feet and score a blinder.

However Page had realised his pass wasn't great and was ready to try and hit the deflection.  That's split second thinking.

I like him more than Bilal already, not saying he's better

He was miles off it FRIDAY NIGHT, not in general.

I think once he finds out his niche and what he's particularly good at he'll be a wonderful box to box,he was doing alot of ayews pressing that first 55 minutes

I also liked that when he started to go for the deflection he instantly realised that Abdul was intending to follow the ball through inside and he held back so as not to interfere with Abdul's run.  We've had a few instances recently of forwards getting in each other's way and chances going begging as a result.

Yep, that goal wouldn’t have happened with Skipp / Soumare / Ndidi in the same position. He really attacked the ball and made that chance happen.

I like him, if he was breaking through as the only academy lad of the year we’d be raving about him

Deadline Day

Unfortunate but I assume if we all of a sudden bring in a few signings in midfield then we could very well see him deciding to move on. But he could have already signed but touch wood as I think he'll develop into a good pro.
