This seems to have been an issue now for a very long time but with the loss of Vardy seems even more apparent.

We just have no one on the pitch anymore who leads, shows grit, holds others to account and would give anything to get over the line.

The captain's armband has been passed around like pass the parcel.

Take someone like Hamza, who you might think could tick some of the right boxes - he goes to ground and gives a way a very silly penalty and the whole team just hasn't got a clue about seeing a game out.

Imagine Winks being allowed to sulk like that or Soumare putting in such a poor performance under some of our warriors in the past!

Troubling times.

Extremely frightening that Mavididi ended up with the armband last night.

I've said it before but you could tell we were building a good squad in 2017-2019 because we were signing captains. Pretty much everyone in that squad that went 5th back to back was captain material.

Right now there are such few players that could realistically lead this squad. We need to get back to that mentality of signing leaders (and not fake talkers like Coady).

It's one of the reasons I would like us to get Josh Brownhill.

It really does stand out a mile that there is a lack of leadership in this group.

It is apparent that many of them don't care.   A lot don't want to be here.

I don't think this is helped by the fact that most realise we as fans can't stand them either.

You would hope that this might create a siege mentality amongst them but it is obvious this isn't happening.

We dislike them and they dislike us.

Totally different to previous teams with leaders like Walsh, Elliott, Taggart, Lennon.

As I said in the manager thread earlier I think the massive problem we have is the apparent lack of competition in the squad. Generally, the same players will be favoured, regardless of their form. We seem to have a culture where players are confident of keeping their place, whether they put 60% effort in or 100%. They are far too comfortable just coasting around the pitch when actually they need a rocket up their arse. We have a seriously frustrating level of arrogance and lack of desire right through our squad (bar a a few players). We seriously lack leaders.

Think one of the problems last night when Monga got booked not one player went over to give him support alright I know he dived but someone should have gone over to him to tell him to be careful

Hamza was straight over? Not necessarily to Monga but he had a word with their players and the ref

We’ve been leaderless since Kasper left.

He set the standards, and he didn’t let them drop. We had some whoopsie when he was here of course, but he was always vocal no matter what. For me, he was the last part of the system that was established under Nigel, once he left that was it…. Even Vardy didn’t have the same leadership qualities as Kasper, we’ve never replaced his character, he wouldn’t have stood for the shit we’re seeing in that dressing room now.

But then there’s a complete lack of leadership from the top of the club, Top’s proven he’s a petulant child, not a leader.

As I’ve said, we are at the stage where nothing changes unless it changes. KP is done here.

I think on the pitch has reflected the apathy off the pitch for a long time now. Both very comparable (no surprise) with nobody wanting to take charge or to lead.Everyone on wages above their station and therefore why rock the boat? Safety in numbers, if everyone is average and keeps quiet then you won’t stand out and therefore it’s an easy life.

Its been like this since Schmeichel left and to an extent since 2017 when the title team started to move on. It's another stain on the recruitment in the post-Walsh era. Unfortunately our senior players now don't really have any of those old school qualities.

There's nobody left in the squad who truly, truly cares if we win lose or draw. It's full of Chamionship standard players on Premier League wages with Premier League egos. Nobody capable of looking in the mirror and owning the fact it's their lack of ability that's landed us here.

So, they're all just looking at the exit door and blaming the guy next to them.

Leadership isn't the issue, we just need players that are desperate for us to win.

He does get hit in the face by the defender and he would probably get that as a foul in the Under’s game, I thought the yellow was extremely harsh

I'm surprised that Winks is giving the captaincy when he is on the pitch (and Ricci is not available).

He is the only person who can actually dictate play

Are you actually saying Winks should be captain when Ricardo doesn’t play.?
If so I am really struggling to understand it, think he is possibly the worst choice I can think of, although maybe a toss up between him and Faes.

It's all one big malaise.

No leadership, some no doubt lacking confidence, no sense of togetherness, fans feeling apathetic/angry at the club and players.

I think people overuse the word rotten but that is exactly what this is.
