Do we think we'll have any new players before Friday?

I severely doubt it.  Other than a striker I can't see us buying anyone else, unless we can shift a few more on

So far we we've sold 5 players for £47 million, I expect BEK to go and possibly Faes to Besiktas.

I saw an online article in early August that we need to sell 6 before we'll start recruiting, we're almost there now.

Its just an endless cycle though. I'm with @em9999...we arent ready to go back up!

You make yourself ready to go back up. Look at Sunderland they had a bang average squad and have gone out and spent £150 million on new players

you have to run the risk re PSR just to have a chance of staying up these days

They, will still go down.

I don't think they will

however at least by spending that money on largely quality players so it gives them a fighting chance

And i think what they have spent has resale value if they do go down. Unlike the Cooper 'investments' we made.

OK slight exaggeration but suffice to say they dominated their game and should have won by a few whilst we were dominated and were lucky to win.

Judging from the stats and the match report, they hardly troubled the Oxford keeper despite dominating possession & most of their sixteen shots were speculative efforts. Lots of passing the ball around but very few clear chances created. They will try to dominate the ball on Friday, so it will be very different to our first three games. I fancy us to get the win.

Probably closest one for me being realistic with what Marti does. Daka at least provides a press and i think Ayew much better deeper or even wide than a number 9.  I think maybe Thomas will start though and maybe hamza right back but hope Ricardo fit for 60 mins though.

less than ideal though and still clear as shit we need a striker and midfielder at the very least.

Need to get El Khannouss into these selections. Don't think he's leaving :fc:

Wouldn't it be great if we've sold Justin and McAteer so we don't have to sell El Khannouss.

People putting Alves in the starting line up?

Doubt that very much going off the Charlton game where Silko Thomas got the nod ahead of him

Wasnt there talk of Sliko going somewhere (QPR - cant remember as i was on holiday?). Might have been a cameo to prove fitness?

Thought Charlton played like a load of thugs.  The defence played like they were auditioning for "Gladiators",  the midfield like our new kit so much they kept trying to remove it from our players during the match, and the forwards were all hit and hope.  Oh, and Nathan Bloody Jones thinks he's the new Mourinho, and that all he has to do get in the face of the officails, and then give a stupid interview to the media after the match.

Nope, and if we do I very much doubt they'll get a game.

Alves should only be picked LW or RW at a push. If Mavididi is out still then Alves might be worth giving the nod ahead of Monga and look to bring him on with 30 to go or vice versa.

I'm very surprised with Cifuentes use of Alves so far, I don't agree that #10 is his best position right now.
