And Mosquera not getting a second yellow.

I don't think it should have been a second yellow. It wasn't reckless or excessive, it would have been a good challenge but Kvaratskhelia managed to quickly position himself behind the ball.

Arsenal should have won this in 2004. That was their big chance.

PSG are a fantastic side but you cannot sit on a lead from five minutes in. I think the game was there for them.

Was said this to a mate yesterday. They were all over Chelsea but the breakaway Parker goal at Highbury meant Arsenal needed 3 goals due to the away goals rule at the time.

That team would have had the better of Monaco in the semis and Mourinho's Porto in the final

Pretty sure Ajax got games moved when they had a run in it

Becoming a very common thing. Inter have had it too. The PSG was more of a story because it involved a game they were playing against their nearest title challengers

I get why Arsenal had to go low block but ultimately after the first half, they had absolutely zero threat on the counter attack. Their subs in an attacking sense were horrific. Gyokeres played like a pub player. Martinelli has zero intelligence. Most of all Arteta showed some poor in game tactics. Nuno Mendes was cooked from 75th minute onwards. Arsenal should have been really targeting that side of the pitch. Most of all though the tactics tired them out. A few of them looked absolutely shafted by the end

Very funny that their parade is today

A friend is going. I think it's double edge sword.

Either they did it last week and would have potentially had to block out a route twice in succession (which could be tricky) or they do this and run the risk of looking a bit silly.

Winning the title is not a booby prize and they did well to hold off PSG as long as they did. PSG weren't at the races for a couple of reasons, in my head - they same squad had already won it against a better team and WC is around the corner.

But the legit Arsenal fans I know are very happy with the season and just baffled with the penalty takers

25% possession and 1 shot on target in a champions league final. Can't feel too hard done by

The big stat for me was 285 passes in 120 minutes of football. That's 2.3 passes per minute.

I know he’s won the league and I think he’s very popular with their fans but I do wonder if a different manager could take Arsenal to the next level. They’ve have plenty of very good players who should be more of a threat, it just seems like Arteta stifles them.

It's what you do when you see a mate in distress, especially when you need that mate to recover in time for the World Cup in a couple of weeks.

As far as the game is concerned, would have been interesting to see Arteta do what Maresca did with Chelsea in the Club World final and continue pressing for a second (and indeed, third) goal.

Instead, he sought to park the bus and ended up paying the price.

Sadly, though, gooners still look best bets to win the PL next season.. 😟

Oh sorry for stating the obvious then..

Cant fault Gabriel for stepping up. If there were more than 5 volunteers thats on Arteta since you cant force a player to take one since they'd probably miss. If there were fewer than 5 volunteers thats on the other players.

Always thought this about the players who miss in penalty shoot outs, they deserved less grief than those who didnt step up at all

This, about the slop that TNT's coverage served up last night, is bang on.

https://www.football365.com/news/champions-league-final-coverage-arsenal-psg-tnt-fletcher

I don't understand why there is a huge desire to be pro-English given you would probably have more English fans wanting that team to lose.

We talk about "Fletch" on here a lot but, genuinely, the amount of facts he gets incorrect is really poor. I can understand some lines getting caught up in the moment but his endless talking style leaves no room to breathe and more mistakes will happen.

Boils down that alot of british tv or radio producers are arsenal supporters. Jamie o'hara revealed that on talksport. The coverage was treated like Arsenal tv. I remember watching Sky news a few weeks ago all praising etc hyping about them... when they lost the result was not mentioned. Like if it didnt happen.

Arteta has been a very good manager and this has been six years in the making which shows why sometimes it’s good to give people time. I’d like him to stay in charge purely for the inevitable drop off which will be absolutely hilarious.

It's a win win for Arsenal. If they'd won the CL, great, but I think most of their fans wanted the PL. Next season should be interesting. Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea with new managers and Spurs and Utd should be stronger. On top of that, with the WC being in a few days, some of those Arsenal players will be close to burn out come the new season.
