It’s too early to make any definitive judgements about Carranza, but my expectations remain low.

There are people saying that we should have signed different strikers, but the reality is that we spent the precise sum of £0.00 in the transfer market. There were clearly limited options available until we’d made some significant sales and this transfer was probably the best we could do on the basis of a deadline day loan signing

A deadline day loan signing from Feyenoord doesn’t scream out as a likely game changer. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if he turns out great, but really don’t expect that will be the case.

It’s not Carranza’s fault. It’s not even a failing of the recruitment team in the last window. It’s more the fault of the people who have presided over getting us into this desperate PSR situation and who thought that spendings millions on Skipp, Ayew and BDCR was a good way to buy ourselves out of it

Some echoes for me of a time over twenty years ago when we’d not long been splashing £5m on a striker, then two years later signing a 30 year old has-been with a career record of 1 goal in every 5 games for £50k.

If he turns out to be as successful as Paul Dickov was (first time round) then we’ll have done okay!

My concern is, he's had two glorious chances to open his account early on in his time here and that would have helped him settle down and hopefully build some confidence and form.

The longer it goes on without him scoring could easily scupper any positive impact he has here, seen it time and time again with loan players - especially strikers.

The Cov one wasn’t a great chance - 0.17 xG.

The Swansea one was crap though, has all the time he needed and could have done various things.

Carranza looks like he's carrying a lead weight around his waste and has never seen a football before.

Can't believe Lorenz Hutchinson can be any worse.

Cost us that goal

Both him and daka go down far too easily. Such an easy thing to coach out of the game but we never seem to.

it does come hand in hand with being useless though as it’s a way to save grace after losing the ball over and over again

In fairness, Ayew also loves to try and win a random Freekick as well.

Meh! Just play him for a dozen games regardless, even just to make sure he is shit, as we have no other strikers.

Jake Evans is currently sat doing no development for this. I'd rather make sure our own are shit before we make sure a year loan is

The chances of him being ready to start week in week out in the Championship are ridiculously slim. Even at League One or Two level he'd probably not quite be ready to be a regular starter. I'd prefer him on the bench to Daka though and would be nice for him to get plenty of game time off the bench.

To be fair I thought he was as good as the other striking options -

Daka, Ayew and Carranza has Championship defences quaking - We need a 20 goals a season striker and I think we have 3 that won't score 5 between them
