Not Evans but Hutchinson

Evans is the U21s striker and Hutchinson is the U18s striker despite Evans being younger. Why do you think that Hutchinson is more ready to make the step up?

Personally id rather have both of them as our options up front rather than Ayew and Carranza anyway but i think Evans is currently the better player with the higher ceiling.

From what I’ve seen Evans looks more like a RW or second striker.

Lorenz, to me, looks like an out an out 9.

He's been played as a striker recently and has been playing well and scoring. Dont think it makes sense to punish him because he has the talent to play multiple positions, if anything it should work in his favour.

After 78 minutes of substitute appearances in a new league and country? Says it all about a lot of our fans and modern football fans in general

Remarkably ignores the point in original post. Edouard given same time and same conclusion. Suspect Carranza goes same way

Still not really played enough minutes to write him off but think there's a very real chance he's 3rd best too.

Can we change the title to "Julián Carranza leaves on loan"? Or is that just wishful thinking?

We've basically just got another Daka.

Woah, Daka contributes more!

Withholding judgement until he at least gets a start at some point...but so far, not seen much to warrant him getting one. Feels like a 3rd choice striker at the moment, rather than the first choice we desperately need.

Tbh I don’t mind which, clearly both deserving of chances

Never a dull moment, he gets into all of the right places, then does all of the wrong things

Culturally he seems to think falling over more often than Norman Wisdom is a good idea when it would be easier to score

Interesting to see how it pans out

There were moments in that game today where he looked absolutely shocking, like as bad as if you put me up front.

Really hope I’m wrong and he just needs time to adapt.

I’m holding back on criticism yet. He got into good positions frequently when he came on and certainly impacted the game. Should’ve scored, but also has a running style that looks a bit slow and a bit awkward. I like the shithousery. Give him a chance

He has played about 20 broken up minutes....too early to judge

I typically agree but he had a whole half and whilst we lost our shape completely, he looked devoid of anything other than wanting to rile up his markers.

I don’t know. I think he has something. His movement is good, and his link up play is decent,  but looks about as sharp as a cucumber. He needs minutes.

Daka isn’t the answer, Ayew links the play but isn’t a number 9. Id like to see him have 2 or 3 starts on the bounce. You can’t realistically judge a player getting 15-20 minutes here and there

He looks every bit of a player who’s coming to a different footballing culture and style. A different speed and tempo.

He does and physically needs to get up to speed however his movement is good and I think there maybe a player in there but may take a while to see it!

What?  Holland?  It's a well trodden path.

I think it more likely that a mediocre career points to a mediocre player, regardless of how many minutes he's played for us.

Fans are so dumb, man. Cannot deal with such simpletons on this forum lol

We love writing players off ASAP

Odds are he’s not what we need, but he’s up against Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka. Both of whom have had plenty of minutes to fart about and contribute nothing.

Carranza hasn’t even amassed 90 minutes yet.  Let’s not turn on him ffs.

All the more reason to give him a bit more time.

At least with Carranza struggling we are more likely to see Evans be given a chance. Would certainly back Evans more than Carranza with the 1 on 1 with the keeper today.

You'd hope so but I don't see it personally. I think we'll use the 3 we've got until January and look at it then.  But can't see Evans getting a go up front.  It would make sense to use Evans purely in terms of future proofing, not just cos he's a young talent, but because it looks very much like none of the 3 we have now will be here in a years time so seeing what Evans is capable of could save us a small headache (potentially, although less realistically a big one) next season because it could solve at least the question of depth.

Agree here that he needs time but boy it wasn’t a good look today. He might be kicking himself I’m sure tonite but he’s gotta take it. If He wants to play at this level and have ambitions of the premier league he’s gotta come locked and loaded. There is no honeymoon period for loan players. He’s gotta be ready right away. We arent  expecting worldies just mastering the basics and when a golden chance arrives he has to bury it no ifs no buts.
