Ricky, Faes, Vest, Thomas

Winks, James

Fatawu, Ayew, Monga

Carranza

Subs. Begovic, Okoli, Kristiansen, Choudhury, Soumare, Page, Mavididi, BDCR, Daka

Something like that, although I wouldn’t argue about some of the positions: Faes v Okoli, Ayew v Soumare with James as the advanced midfielder, Thomas v Kristiansen and whether Monga should start or come on as a sub.

I will, however, be severely tempted to commit a violent act on myself or others if Ayew starts again at number 9 :@

I think Hamza only really works well as an inverted RB. He gives wingers way too much space as a conventional fullback. And he doesn't help in the attack.

You missed Hamza's part in the last goal we scored, then?

The one which was scored whilst he wasn't being played at fullback? Cos the guy who scored the goal, Ricardo, came on and played rightback while Hamza moved into the midfield.

No, no I didn't miss that.  And in the context of what I said, doesn't seem relevant.

After back 2 back draws could really do with the 3 points here.

It's imperative really if we have any aspirations of top 2, this game I feel is a big one even at this early stage.

But West Brom concede a fair lot and also like us are low scoring, so would take a 1-0 win all day long!

Looking at their recent scores and our allergy to getting men forwards, this looks like it's gonna be dull as dishwater.

1-1
Gareth McCauley/Craig Dawson overhead kick on the line
Off Ayew's arse after a Luke Thomas throw in causes mayhem and McAuley/Dawson kicks the ball at Ayew's peach

Don't tell me McCauley or Dawson don't play for them, pretty sure it's written in EFL law that one of them has to play CB for them.

Personally thought Soumare played well against Cov. First game he was shite, but since the he hasn’t met us down.

Name me one thing he did. We are now in the situation where is Soumare isn't completely sh*t then he's alright.

And wasn't there an own goal a few games back?

My saying it was intended to mean we'd definitely lose this one lol

Only because the place was Jamie Vardy's dancefloor. Feels a tough game going there without him now lol

I do believe Soumare is only 2nd to Winks in the teams progressive passes, thats to say passes that make significant gains towards the opposition penalty box or passes into the opposition penalty box, you might think big deal but given that Winks has only played 3 games worth of minutes out of the 6 league games so far it doesn't bode well for the other players if Soumare is beating them on that stat.

He was also part of the shield that protected the defence that kept both the leagues highest scorers & highest shot takers to just a few attempts.

The own goal was far from a Sinclair style calamity it could have been anyone standing there & have the ball smash against their face.

I think we see his lumbering gait & pick up everything & anything he does wrong despite if he does 'x' things bad but 'y' things good.

Don't get me wrong i also want to look at a change but only once Ramsey is back & then he can have Ramsey-10, JJ-8 &  Winks-6 because until that is possible it means having Ayew or BDCR as 10 which just weakens the midfield & would put a huge amount of workload on JJ.

I don't think Page will be getting much of a lookin especially as a starter so drop Soumare you end up with Ayew or BDCR & what's the lesser evil?

Big set pieces side the Baggies

I've been fairly happy with the way we've defended set pieces this season. They way we have delivered them ourselves though, my god.

Bar El Khannouss vs Sheffield Wednesday, we have been an absolute abomination at them.

Fair point. Expect we might see a bit of rotation over the next three games. Away at WBA looks to be the harder of the 3 fixtures, so wouldn’t surprise me to see Marti stick with the same XI, with more changes midweek at home to Wrexham.

Vs WBA (a)
Stolarczyk; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Thomas; Winks, Soumaré; Fatawu, James, Mavididi; Ayew

Vs Wrexham (h)

Stolarczyk; Hamza, Okoli, Vestergaard, Thomas; Winks, James; BDCR, Page, Monga; Carranza

I think this is what Marti will do but Monda and Mavididi will start in opposite games to what you've put here. Wrexham are the most long ball / lump it teams in the division so a bit of physicality especially to start the game is probably the way to go. Page might not start against Wrexham for similar reasons.

The pleasing thing is that despite Ramsey being unavailable the squad seems quite strong at the moment, which is neccessary when the games come thick and fast. I could also see VK playing one of these games given Thomas has played in all of them so far.

You’re telling me you aren’t enjoying the Luke Thomas floated corner experience?

The one Jordan James did in the first half vs Cov was one of the worst corner attempts I have seen in years

Not sure whether it was a really badly failed attempt at a routine or he just absolutely scuffed it lol

Up there with the PTSD Harry Kane gave me in June/July 2016 in France.
