A bit harsh, but he was rubbish in the cup game…. Faes and Vestergaard are lower risk options (I suspect you’ll disagree with me though) If Nelson was that good, he’d be starting… I just wonder how many of those advocating Nelson’s exclusion in favour of Vestergaard and Faes, using one half against Huddersfield again him, will be quick to slam the club when he is sold for a pitiful amount or walks for free. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but hopefully those with your view of prioritising Vestergaard and Faes at the expense of planning for the future by developing Nelson, will stand by this and back the club when we lose Nelson and if he goes on to be a success elsewhere, probably making his next club a decent wedge! 3
Popular Post adejo92 Posted 26 September 2025 Popular Post Posted 26 September 2025 The 'I'd take a draw' brigade out yet? Must win this. Dropped 2 points against an average cov side, cant drop another 2 here. 8

I can see how it’s been read that way, but it isn’t what I was saying…. The point I was trying to make is that it’s tough for Marti to risk developing talent when he has proven centre halves And you’re right, I don’t personally have enough to go on beyond one half of football I personally wouldn’t be closed to him using him… but If he was showing enough promise, he’d be closer to the team, but he’s apparently 4th choice 1

I have seen very few people calling for him to be given a chance and just pre-empting that he will leave for free and there will be a massive meltdown aimed at the club and wondered how many of those will be people not wanting him included now. In my view, the facts are there. His contract is running out, we have given no reason for him to resign as we are giving him no opportunities. Only those pushing for his inclusion now will have the right to be pissed off when he walks for free or a pitiful amount. But, if he isn’t good enough, then we should just sell him in January to maximise any profit we can get for him given it would be all PSR profit as an academy player. Well I think we should sell him regardless. The start of this season felt like a sliding doors moment for his career with us, given the limited time on his contract. The fact he has been completely excluded and nowhere near the team means, realistically, his time here is done now. So we just need to maximise the benefit financially and move on. I suppose his sale could fund the remainder of Faes and Vestergaard’s wages 1

We should be aiming to win every game. Edited 26 September 2025 by Fox92 Missed out the winning part! 8

Happy Fox Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 This is the game that defines Marti's credentials for us going forwards imo, we know despite our issues off the pitch, that the board won't accept anything less than 2nd spot this season, so we need to maintain a 2 ppg average, beat West Brom we are on track. 1
Ric Flair Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 Big game this is. Anything but a win and it's a fairly mediocre / poor start to the season. But a win will not be easy so that highlights how consistent we've got to be. We've been extremely unconvincing away from home, something thats been said about Cifuentes's teams in the past. Hopefully with our squad he has the ability to change that. 3

Do we know that? As far as I can tell, Cifuentes has never said what the target is this season, and our board don’t do interviews… 1
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 We should be going into every game looking to dominate the ball and come home with 3 points. Should have won the last two - tonight is an ideal opportunity to put a marker down and get back on track. 2

Every year we stay in the Championship will make it harder to get back up as our revenues decline and the teams coming down from the PL have a bigger advantage. Promotion this season has to be the goal. Edited 26 September 2025 by ClaphamFox 3

We are in play offs and will likely still be (or just outside) even if we lose. A poor start if we draw is just not true
winteriscoming Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 A draw is a decent result only if we beat Wrexham and Portsmouth in our next 2 home games. 2

RowlattsFox Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 Worried about this, just struggling to go into any games with confidence despite a reasonable start. We need to up our game going forward tonight I think. Can't play Ayew up top, anywhere really but even more so away from home. I'd even have Daka up there just to stretch the game and allow some space for wide men. 1
Mickyblueeyes Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 While tough, these are the sort of games you have to win. Especially if going for the top 2 - which absolutely what we should be aiming for. What to see more threat up front. I want to see us isolating their full backs with our two wingers - whoever the two are. More progress. And when the chances fall, to take them. 3
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 Play our good players and we'll win Give Ayew 90 and start with that wide arse Soumare in midfield and we won't 1

Nolucklcfc Posted 26 September 2025 Posted 26 September 2025 Think I’d prefer to see daka than Ayew again and that’s saying something 1
