Whilst he is not entirely blameless where would we be under Ruud or Cooper? I suspect pretty much the same position. The fact is the club has been hampered by diabolical recruitment for a number of years. I would be interested to see what kind of players Marti wants in January.

Again whilst not blameless any manager coming in is stuck with the players we have.

We arent buying anyone in January. Likely see Fatawu go and we will do our best to ship off Faes and Winks, with it very likely no one will take them.

I suspect the 'outgoings before incomings phrase' will get banded around a lot, with Fatawu going on the last day with no replacement.

& where fans would happily welcome that failed manager with open arms trying to put some spin on why they failed in their previous jobs searching back to when they were successful to justify.

The merry-go-round of the same names is staggering

And all he will need is a pre season and his own players. Give him 10 games, till international, till Christmas, Jan transfer.

The cope from fans shift constantly but sometimes you can just see if a manager is shit.

My measurement to right off the manager is if they start Soumare for more than 2 games in a row.

I think back to when Pearson came back after Sven, there was an impact but things wasn’t instant with how he wanted to play etc it took a few transfer windows moving some of Sven’s overpaid ego’s on and bringing in the right characters. Whoever comes in (MC was to get sacked) needs to find a way to get something out of this current crop, unfortunately the club are stuffed financially that we can’t bring anyone in and tbh, I don’t think any club is interested in paying for 99% of this squad so we are literally stuck with them - which I think these players know

Nuno would be great but seems a level or two above us at the moment

Considering how low we've fallen he's be a good choice, if we want someone who knows the league well. He plays a more direct style with quick counter attacking.

He's certainly clear out a lot of the deadwood in our squad. We may not appeal to him if we've no money to spend, so I don't see it happening.

Reckon he'll change the situation around, much to many people's surprise.

The performances and league position could be a lot worse, given the current situation.

If we had money to spend then I’d hazard a guess that any manager would ‘try’ to clear out the deadwood including Marti

‘Try’ being the operative word

What is that makes you think this? What do you think he needs/is missing?

I don't dislike the guy as a person, but as a manager and coach he is regularly been found wanting for what we want/need.

They would sack him and employ russell martin so i'd rather keep Marti!

I dislike everything about Martin but he’s clearly a better coach than Marti 👀

He absolutely is, based on his track record in the Championship at Swansea and Southampton.

Personally I think Gerrard is Dog Poo !!!! Just paying for the name... One win with Rangers in a shit league.     He has done nothing else.

I don’t think we such position we should judging other managers. How many of us poo poo the idea of getting in someone like Dyche, Moyes and/or Lampard, I bet we wish we had one of them managing us now. We

are simply not in a place where we can choose who we want as manager, that’s how we’ve ended up with the likes of Steve Cooper and the rest!

You never know Carrick /Gerrard could be a Raneri moment!

Its probably not far off our best XI but you cant pretty much stick to the same team after two losses. He's either given up or completely inept.

On top of that, why have Carranza on the bench over Evans when he won't use him, same with Ricardo. If he needs resting due to injuries, leave him out the squad. Makes zero sense.

serial ****ing liar. Oh I trust youth, exiled Nelson for months. My team want to attack and extend leads, most cowardly attacking performances since the days of Gary "6 RBs" Megson. I'm angry with performances but rewards them all with another start.

**** off back to waiting tables in a Barcelona tapas restaurant, because that's as close to Barca as you've ever actually made it

What a charlatan. Absolutely zero capability to successfully lead a team. Yeh it’s slim pickings we all know that but for ****s sake do something a little bit different. Monga and Page (if Ramsey not quite match fit) at the very least. Aluko too potentially. Clearly there’s a problem with Carranza for whatever reason so get Evans back in. Almost like he wants to get fired.

This doesn’t get commented on enough, he genuinely got the job here for two reasons:

1) He was cheap

2) He mentioned Barcelona in his interview

Marti might be a lovely bloke but he’s an awful manager, we are and will be the biggest club that he’ll ever manage.

I’ve probably been in the top 20% of Marti supporters, think he comes across as a thoroughly decent guy who really wanted to be here in the summer.

he’s completely out of ideas though isn’t he, and I’m so surprised in how quickly that’s happened for him. Time to go, but I think he’s safe until we are in the drop zone and the board really panic
