Not disagreeing, but didn’t I see that we miss a ridiculous amount of chances recently posted? (Cannot recall when it was, maybe I dreamt it!)

We are way off where we need to be, I sincerely hope we do not go up this season, and focus on improving our team with fighters as we currently have very few.

I really miss KDH.  :(

Really didn't think we'd miss him quite as much as we have.

Dave Challinor, there should be no one else on the list. But obviously the current regime would never.

That statement from Celtic about Rodgers has brought back some memories..self serving little snake.

Told it as it is. Everything we know Brendan is, he laid it out. Self serving little liar.

His time at Celtic is very similar to ours in his last days......blaming everyone but himself

He should have been offered it a year ago.  Steady progress year on year with Stockport County, with limited resources.  Unlucky to miss promotion to the Championship via the play-offs last season and has Stockport top of div1 tonight.

Shame he didn’t resign that season. If he had left earlier in the season, we’d have stayed up.

Reading this brings back bad memories, fair play to Celtic on revealing the truth:

Makes you think that maybe the club were honest with Brendan and he knew earlier he wouldn’t get the reset he wanted?

Was just thinking exactly this.

Brilliant for a couple of years, let's be fair, but the way it fell apart and his role in that awful.

Unbelievable statement from Dermot Desmond. Just shows how poisonous a person he can be, and the broader impact this has on the perception of others in the club. Not excusing the board for taking their time to dismiss him, but maybe they had similar feelings towards him, and really didn't want to reward his behaviour by paying him off. Does make you wonder if they assumed (wrongly so in the end) that we had too much quality to go down. Would also explain BRs odd selections. Was he intentionally picking the likes of Ward to force the clubs hand? I guess we'll never know for certain, but I'm not sure there's any coming back from that Celtic statement.

Rodgers is a good manager but once he doesn’t get his own way he becomes a ****ing nightmare. Sadly we have a spineless owner and DOF

He isn't a good manager. He gets his own way and then throws his toys out of the pram when he gets found out. He's a complete fraud.

Brendan at his best was potentially the best Manager we’ve had.

Brendan at his worst was every bit as bad as any terrible coach we’ve ever had.

They’re like Ying / Yang unfortunately and you can’t have one without the other.

Hindsight states that maybe Head Coaches are best served on a two to three year cycle!

That statement could have been released by Ming Power though and it would read exactly like many believed it played out here!

Can a manager who has a tendency to ruin a squad if he stays too long actually be considered to be good?

Fair point but when he first came in, that 19/20 season before Covid … I’ve never seen us play that good.

Before Rodgers took over we played 'peak Rodgers ball' in the Brighton 2-1 win. Not sure the way we played was down to him or due to the quality of player we had, the squad he inherited was ridiculous.

Challinor would be a gamble I could fully get behind, massively exciting. Would take him tomorrow if he was available to us.

Don't do that.

Look, the man is a *****, he shouldn't ever be allowed to "manage" a football club and even left alone to just coach a squad he'll eventually fall over because his man management of actual human beings is trash tier.

But when he's got confidence in his squad and his squad have confidence in him he's a pretty good coach.

We played probably the best football I've ever seen us play under Rodgers and if you're going to try and pretend that was down to Claude Puel, who couldn't coach a team to attack if it was to save the world, I'm going to pay Mark to ban you for life.

It's possible to hold contrasting thoughts and nuance in your head. Rodgers can be a cvnt we're glad to see the back of but also won us the FA Cup and played some absolutely cracking football when things were good.
