It was an inevitable decision and needed to be made as he was incapable of getting enough out of this squad. I found his stubbornness in relation to how we played and tactical set up hugely frustrating however he seemed a very decent bloke who gave it his all but just not good enough.

As I left the stadium yesterday I said to the person I was with that I had seen enough and it was time the manager went.

Hopefully they'll give Kingy a chance to see what he can do. Surely having played and trained under Pearson and Claudio some of their magic has rubbed off. First thing is to get the players fitter everyone can see that

I had sympathy for him but as a manager you have to set basic standards, have boundaries. The basic stats under his leadership were terrible, we couldn’t defend, don’t press, we didn’t look like creating much, just nothing. Week on week we’re were visibly declining, culminating in yesterday’s shitshow. It’s a bad squad, but not get outplayed by Oxford level bad.

I sat at games genuinely trying to figure out what his plan was and give him the benefit of the doubt. He was tied to this stupid formation and stupid back passing, that achieved nothing.

Oxford were a better more enjoyable side to watch than us. We need to end this btech pep phase, the main target is to win football matches

I don’t get the pile-on for Marti. He seems like a totally decent guy. He just wasn’t good enough. That’s on us for appointing him. In a difficult set of conditions, he seems to have given it his all. Sadly, his all was nowhere near the level we needed. Personally, I hope he goes on to have success elsewhere and wish him well.

The pile on is not personal against him.
however it is an indictment of his coaching and managerial ability.
20+ games and we still have no idea how he actually wanted us to play.
Probably a decent guy as you say. Paid own compensation to come here shows he really wanted to be here and do well. In the end, performances and results showed he was well out of his depth at our club. I too wish him well but it is the right call for him to leave.

Out of his depth with what he was dealing with here.

Its been poor, but how is this squad of spoilt brats going to respond to the new guy. I have a feeling I know how this is going to end.

I don't like journalists using the "he hasn't spent any money" excuse.

He's got the squad with the biggest wage budget the league has ever seen and he brought in two very proven Championship level players in the summer in on loan.

100% had to go,but the wage budget is probably the main reason we are in this total mess financially.

There lies the problem ,giving contracts and massive wages for mediocre players.

Absolute incompetence higher up and no football knowledge.

I don’t think it’s fair to give it to king for the rest of the season at this point. There is still a lot riding on the season and could easily go both ways still and it’s lot to expect of him so early in his career to take on . Get someone with experience that can sort out as much as they can with what we have as there will be little to no incoming players

Andy King will “take charge of first team preparations” and they’ll undertake “process to appoint a permanent manager” would imply they’re not looking at an interim.

Now that would be an actual achievement, it can’t get much worse surly?

Our previous manager went 9 home games without a goal and we found someone worse. Anything is possible with dumb and dumber in charge

ok, so what’s the plan?

Not a single team in the league we can't beat with this squad if it was actually set up correctly, and if players actually wanted to perform.

Mavididi & Fatawu switch it up, JJ returns and skipp continues as hes done recently...

Get a couple of youth in the mix and a striker, its all very realistic.

All depends on whos appointed though.

I’ve lost that optimism sadly. New manager might improve things slightly, but we need an overhaul of this toxic bunch

I agree but we hardly rush to appoint, so I’d guess he gets two games in charge at least.

Im amazed anyone thinks this changes anything. Club is in free fall and nothing changed till rudkin and top go. The last four years have told us that quite loudly.

if it is R Martin, after 59 years of supporting the club through thick and thin, I will be finished - even if he  had us winning the Champions League

sorry
