I'm sad because I think he can do better than Ipswich but there we are. We were denied the chance to see how good he could be in the premier league due to injury and it's such a shame that we have ran the club into the ground.

 

Make no mistake, it will be years before we can sign players like him again with his talent and ceiling.

Did well for us, you could argue he should have done better in the last 3 months of the season which follows a very familiar pattern.

 

For the position we are in this is ok. Time to find the next Abdul.

9 goals and 8 assists post-ACL which he also came back from earlier than usual whilst part of a very poor and toxic team is a very good season

I don’t think it was a really impressive season.

Started off ok but 5 goals and 2 assists from game week 22 onwards after he had recovered from his injury was far from amazing, as was the final 11 games with one goal and one assist.

 

2 long periods with a lack of goals. 

1 in 16 midway and 1 in 11 at the end of the season.

 

Murphy was used as an example of being surrounded “by garbage” and still getting good numbers which pretty much makes the argument of being surrounded by garbage a moot point.

Im not sorry to see fatawu leave im sorry if this doesnt sit well with popular opinion, but hes a luxury player and ultra annoying when he cuts inside when bett3r options availble .. Just to twat it over the bar 

 

 

I do wish him well though he seems a nice enough lad he just doesnt have enough (reliable) end product

Incredible player. Fantastic start in his first season and one of the best chants, abba,  to end that season. Shame he didn't get to showcase his talents in the premier league  due to injury.  Came back  strong last season and had great stats but became frustrated towards  the end. A breath of fresh air to me, loved his chant, got me excited every he touched the ball. Will miss him😥

The question is, can he be coached to not be a one trick pony. If he can, he’ll go on to have a very good career.

 

Boy was he frustrating to watch at times though. 
 

A real seesaw player that was from the utterly brilliant to the totally WTF was that within the same game.  

 

Thank you for the goals Abdul, however if we want to be consistent, I think it benefits the “TEAM” from having players on the pitch that understand how we are going to operate and know what we are going to do.

 

You can’t underestimate his defensive work rate though, I can imagine him Being repurposed as an attacking fullback at some point, similar to Moses or Valencia.

Incredible talent, has the ability to go on and be worth double that fee. That said, I'm happy with the fee. He's not that player yet and whilst he has potential he equally could not hit those heights as I'm not sure he has the maturity to recognise a team doesn't revolve around him regardless of talent. 

 

Frustrating player to watch. Moments of absolute magic at times, yet often over played when a better option was on. Loved him initially, but last season highlighted a lot of development areas for me. 

 

I'll wish him well, and keep a close eye on him as he seems like a lovely bloke. Just hope he can be coached to fulfill his potential and he matures as he becomes older.

Make no mistake he is a talented player who is capable of producing moments of absolute quality however I also think he has limitations due to poor decision making and he has a tendency to try and do too much especially when things aren’t going his or the teams way, I think this will stop making it with an elite team but nonetheless I think he will carve out a decent career in the premier league.

Out of curiosity can fans provide some players at a similar level that they view as being more consistent than Fatawu. I've read so many times that his decision making is poor and he blows too hot and cold but the reality is if he scored 30 yarders every week and racked up 40+ goal contributions each season he'd be one of the best players in the country.

 

There's a tendency to not tolerate players who show one extreme to another vs less able players who just keep things ticking over and are solid and dependable. I get it to a degree but what many of you are asking for from him is a bit rich.

League 1 and 2 aren’t designed for teams like us, so the financial rules are developed for teams with far more modest financial situations. 
 

So, if Top isn’t putting money into the club, is it because he doesn’t want to, or can’t afford to? 
 

We could get away with a lot here, if ever there was a time to be brave with money it’s now, but thanks to our careless owner, we’re probably in a situation where we can’t spend anything.

Show me a list of consistent players who excelled whilst we had Fats. Everyone was inconsistent in genersl or at some point. 
 

Mavididi was 2x more inconsistent and 2x more a one trick pony than Fats.

 

I wish him well. Hopefully he’ll progress and shine for Ipswich and that we’ve got a healthy sell-on percentage when he eventually moves on to better things.
