We need a new DoF, new Technical Director, new owner, new manager and backroom staff, and 75% of the squad replaced.

 

We could very likely be in L1 or aiming for the championship playoffs.

 

Our return to ‘form’ has been spectacular. A decade at the top before becoming a yo-yo club again 🤦‍♂️

Thats the bare minimum

 

Get rid of BDCR, Ayew, L.Thomas, Okoli, Faes, Winks

 

I think Riccy will go, we'll need to sell Abdul for PSR and possibly big Ben Nelson. Id accept any offer that we get for Mavididi (if we get one). Jordan James wont be signing.

 

Be shopping in the free agent market and loans. 

 

Add to that, a new owner, board and management team. So basically a new club

It is terrifying that the same people who were in charge of those signings, will be in charge of the next twelve signings. The worst bit is that there's three or four in there that are fundamentally quite good signings (Bilal, Fatawu, Hermansen, Winks). Yet for every decent one, there's an absolute corker of a shitshow.

Let's be realistic here. This is going to be a total rebuild forced upon Rudkin.

 

Begovic, Nelson, Ricardo, Fatawu, Faes, Vestegaard, El-Khannouss, Monga, Daka, Coulibaly, Winks and Ayew will all most likely leave. You could all but make an out of contract/leaving XI with it.

 

There will be promotions from the youth side as I suspect Aluko, Page, Braybrooke, Alves and Evans will most likely get minutes. That still means we'll need five or six new players in.

I don’t think it is. The options just means Rennes can’t whack the price up based on him having a great season here. Other clubs could still pay more and sign him. And he could also decline and choose to go elsewhere.

I can see Begovic staying for another year even if as 3rd choice. Nelson as well, I’ll be surprised if we get a big offer for him at this stage, probably more likely to sign a new deal as he hasn’t overly stood out. As for Monga again I’d be surprised if the club put him in the first team this season if there wasn’t some sort of agreement for him to sign a professional contract in the summer when he turns 17. In which case it would make sense for him to play a bigger role next season with an aim to make a big move summer 2027.

Which is why it’s so important we bring in the right coach/technical director asap to convince him of a longer term project. I think he would sign as he’s building a name for himself here but only if he’s given some reassurances the club was now heading in the right direction.


We’ve actually managed to secure a great deal here if we can get it over the line. A potentially £20m+ asset for less than a quarter of that.
