Mason Burstow - Hull City, valued around £2m.

Keillor-Dunn would still be my first choice, but after looking around for strikers that tick the boxes that Russell usually goes for, Burstow would be a strong candidate imo.

17 G/A for Bolton last season which is pretty decent, Hull will more than likely be willing to sell too.

The only thing I’m not convinced on, is whether he is regular starter material at L1 level.

Have we actually had any links (from a decent source) to anyone we'd have to pay a fee for yet?

I'm happy with the free transfers as we need to bolster the squad and Chaplin looks like a good transfer at this level, but given the lack of transparency the club has had surrounding their finances over the last few years, I do have a worrying feeling that we may not actually be very active in the transfer market. Every window our manager claims we are active in the market, only to find out the board has misled them it seems.

Also, has anyone heard anything about that random goalkeeper someone posted on here? I believed that!

Other than the Plymouth striker I don’t think so

This summer was always going to be a big one, I know we have had no incomings so far. But at least we seem to be clearing some of the players we want to leave.

We need players in but hopefully clearing these out means we do finally get a fresh start with the majority of new players(could be young players that are already there)

I'm slightly concerned the club have done with RM what they did with the last few managers, and not be transparent about the finances. Promising funds to get players in to lure the guy in and then he realises he's been lied to. Are we going to be solely reliant on free transfers? If so I reckon we can forget about promotion this season. The kids aren't good enough or experienced enough to navigate their way through a tough, long season.

Probably, but I think until we have got rid of the big earners and the couple who are likely to bring in some funds I think the reality will be frees.

Players 29-35 expensive on wages, not happy with our signings currently.  We need young young young for league one, I prefer using academy players to signings currently.

I think you are spot on with this.

I do think we will be bringing in Free transfers and loans only.

I think when 'budgets' are spoken about, they the club will be talking about wages and loan fees in those budgets, and not in terms of transfer fees (up to RM whether he picked up on this!)

I'd be surprised if we paid any transfer fees, with the overall state of the clubs finances.

All that said, to be fair, do we need to spend on transfer fees? - The Free Market and Loan Market, if navigated correct could suffice. Big IF though!

Think we’re fishing in a completely different pond tbh, Tolaj and Ballard were always likely to get Championship moves, Leyton Orient have rejected bids for Ballard believed to be above £3 million.

Difficult to say what Jayden Wareham’s situation at Exeter is like, as he had a family bereavement a week or so ago.

You’re then left looking at players like Keillor-Dunn and Burstow, who imo would suit a Russell Martin system, otherwise it’s gambling on a striker who’s been abroad, Lauritsen for example, and hope they can give you 15-20 goals.

Or gambling on someone further down the pyramid, like Danny Ormerod.

Been shouting his name for a few months on here - I’d be shocked if he left Sirius for us now with how they’ve started the league season.

Id like us to look at Johnny Kenny from Celtic - had a decent loan at Bolton last year.

Then I’d imagine it’s 2 centre backs, a couple of wingers and maybe another left back

He’ll for sure move somewhere, but would be too risky imo as a first choice striker.

Solid shout Ric, someone I’ve also been looking at as he ticks numerous boxes.

I just have an annoying suspicion that he comes in the same category as Tolaj and Ballard, will probably move somewhere higher for £3-5 million.

Given we own a Belgian club and McCarron's experience at Lommel we should be looking in the Challenger Pro League at the very least.
