he probably played at a level above them by the time he was 14

As long as we have enough defensive solidity yeah. However we already tend to concede 2 a game even with Skipp and Winks in front of this back 4, so with an extra forward thinking player in the midfield instead of one of them, then how many will we concede when we have Okoli at the back.

JJ stronger in that role than Winks it’ll be fine.

 

The talking point would be Skipp or Winks, could argue our best game of the season we had Winks, JJ & Ramsey as the 3 “midfield” players so you’d think just swapping Ramsey out for Mukasa would be the pick, least then you have 3 players not scared of the ball.

Be tough on Skipp maybe but needs must, we need to get the ball up top & just go on the attack.

Skipp can be Winks replacement to keep energy up.

You’d think we’d rather have skipp than Winks given one’s contracted to be around for 2-3 more seasons and the other walks away in May. However, desperate times need desperate measures so your plan could be best option.

I'd be tempted to drop the striker to shoehorn JJ into the squad. Our strikers are ineffective at best and a makeshift JJ or Mukasa can't do any worse up top.

I'm not sure it has as we've scored more than enough goals to survive without a functioning striker (we've scored the 8th highest number of goals in the league and between 13 and 18 more than each of the 4 teams just above us). Our main issue has been our ridiculous defence and, arguably, the lack of a physically strong CDM to protect the back 4.
