Just thinking about some simple facts regarding next season:

-The same morons will be driving the club into the ground with their crass incompetence

- These same useless bastards will have responsibility for appointing a new manager- something they've proven time and again they are hopeless at

- There is likely to be a huge turnover of players. However, many of those on big wages aren't going to give up those lucrative contracts easily - they have proven they don't care one jot about LCFC. This will further divide an already fractured dressing room.

- We may well be having to rely on young, inexperienced players in L1, a notoriously physical league.

- There is no sign that the total lack of culture and accountability at the club for several years now is being addressed - arguably it's being encouraged by promoting a man who has evidently been an abject failure in J*n R*****n.

- We're in desperate financial peril, however you look at it. We'll be in League 1 with EPL overheads.

- It's not inconceivable that there maybe more PSR problems in the future. I have 0 confidence in the administration of the club. I don't believe a word of what the club say in regard to PSR compliance.

- In relation to the above, it's not out of the question we incur more penalties moving forward. Let's be honest, we're still in the firing line after the Di Marco situation.

All these things considered (plus a myriad of other problems I've probably missed), I don't think it's that unrealistic to think we might be going down again next season.

I know James McCarron is coming in, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if either A) he never actually starts here or B) he starts and leaves pretty sharpish when he sees what working with Top and Jon entails.

Discuss.

Whilst I dont see us bouncing straight back up, I genuinely cant see us dropping unless our finances get even worse and we get battered for deductions... if that was the case I could see us going out of business anyway.  Such a sh×t show.

I do see your point though. If we struggled with the physicality of the championship it's only about to get harder but I think we will have enough to stay up... how crap that feels to say im confident we can stay up in league one

I think we'll finally see the player exodus we've needed for a while. Players will be willing to drop wages to avoid playing in league 1 and we'll be forced into selling players below previous unrealistic values.

There's no floor to where we can drop if the higher ups keep their blinkers on but I think it's extremely unlikely we drop again (admittedly the same was true 12 months ago).

It can’t be ruled out.

Top wouldn’t do a good job of owning Shepshed Dynamo. I honestly don’t know what his floor is

Realistically do we think he could organise a Sunday League side? I think it would genuinely be a struggle for him without any outside help.

Would probably find a way to put one of his side pieces on the books of that too

Think the physicality aspect of LL football is a myth that needs dispelling. 2 big things that separate those at the top:

Mentality. whether that's making the right decision/being able to execute under pressure/being consistent.

The other thing is physical attributes. Many a player has not be able to make the step up because they are not quick enough/strong enough etc. So we'll be up against weaker and slower players in general.

I think it's more that the style of football is more attritional because of the above factors. Players don't trust or have the decision making to take a riskier option so will be more direct. And if they have a physical specimen, they will want to exploit that more, so again, more direct.

If we had a vaguely competent recruitment team, we could roll the league and probably be in contention for back to back promotions with the development of the young players and some steel added. But we don't have that, the young prospects will leave and the culture is rotten so it's going to be total potluck as to what happens next year

Next season is where we REALLY see if Seagrave has accomplished anything because an awful lot of our first team will come from there.  I suspect like everything else at the club, its achieved nothing.

In my eyes, we are playing next season with a load of under 21s, maybe a couple of freebies if we can move on a lot of the overpaid wasters we have on our books.  I would say next season its just as likely that we drop in to League 2 as it is getting promoted from League 1.

The solution to this (in an ideal world) is freezer them out. Tell them to sort a transfer out or rot. That way the new players on realistic wages can see that there's real consequences for being a bunch of money grabbing c****

I know what you mean mate, but players have so much power these days, (they clearly hold far too much power at LCFC) I just can't see it happening. Partly because I think we have a number of players with such a lack of professional pride that they would happily rot in the reserves if it meant more money each week - Jack Rodwell style

That list of names makes me bang up for our next chapter.

I keep reading on here people presuming that players on high wages will refuse to move.  Name one player on a high wage who will happily stay with us in league 1.  If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the last few games, it’s that none of them want to be here.  They’ll all be pestering their agents every day to sort out a move.

The quality of football this season is worse than last year. Most of our better players are loanees who will leave at the end of the season, and any decent permanent players are likely to be sold. A few will run out of contract at the end of the season, leaving a mix of inexperienced youngsters and apathetic hasbeen journey men who show little desire to play at this level. Any manager we appoint will struggle to motivate that group; after around ten games of mediocre results they’ll likely go through the motions and fall back on the same tired clichés each week.

Across the league we’ll be the side every opponent treats like a cup match—former premier champions with nothing to lose—so every fixture will be a chance for other teams to enjoy a moment of glory. All in all, I wouldn’t be surprised to see us near the bottom of the table next season.

I once thought relegation might be a great reset; now it feels like it will only be another sad chapter in our ongoing decline.

It will be 6 ex- PL teams from that list if we are included. There will be several more when the season ends so plenty of misplaced confidence as the season progresses.

Hamza and Thomas, who'd  have em

I ask the same as a year ago - why not?

It'll be the same people, the same culture of low performance, with shitter players, outside bet of another deduction perhaps? Plus four teams go down.

If there’s another thing we know from the last few seasons, it’s that we are not very good at unloading those types of players.
