Well played by Guitierrez (sp).

Great move across the man to draw the foul and get him off. He was getting closed down and the chance wasn't a definite goal. Easy to beat ten men with a goal advantage.

Had a browse of this week's fixtures. There really isnt anything that shouldn't just be a run over or very low quality football.

Expanding this has diluted the group stage too much.

Brazil v Morocco and France v Senegal should be decent

hosts against qualifying group winners, this isn't the expansion of the tournament, this is just how some of the world cup group stage is in every tournament

Too many people really don't remember how bad most group games tend to be at the WC.  Which is precisely why I mention the Olympics, instead, because EXPANDING upon that original tournament is what the World Cup was always intended to be and do.  The Olympics is the original elite football tournament that it seems too many wish the World Cup would regress to instead.  That even with 48 teams, some otherwise 'decent' countries STILL haven't qualified (Italy/Nigeria/Cameroon/Chile etc.) should tell you that, if anything, it might not be big enough to still truly be a 'WORLD' Cup, regardless of what many people think.  The one thing about this tournmant, though, that does differ from before, is that it has 3 host countries from the same confederation, which is how Curacao managed to qualify, though even then they still had to beat Jamaica...

To everyone complaining about the quality of the world cup? Aww, diddums, boo-hoo.  The game/sport is bigger now than it ever has been, and the World Cup has expanded to reflect that.  Other Sports WISH they had that 'problem' :P

This might be the most boring Mexican side of my life time.

With a bit of luck South Africa will score on the 90th min and it will be all over for Mexico in this tournament. It will take an own goal though because I can't see any other away SA would score.
