Simply would not pay $2000 a ticket as was offered today.

Went to the fan park.. great fun with all the Samba Brazillians.

One thing is blatantly obvious.. people from all nations are sound.. we have met Brazillians, Argentinians, Columbians and even some English as well as the locals. All decent

It's the politicians that keep us divided!

*Greedy/selfish rich people who divide and conquer the rest of humanity, by using other selfish people as weapons against everyone else.  Partisan politics is still an effect of this, not a cause.

Bitterly disappointed in McTominay so far, been way off it in all 3 games

I dont think people realise how bad the standard of Serie A is nowadays. Hes not suddenly become Zinedine Zidane since moving to Italy. Barring Inter Milan, he is playing against shite teams week in week out

Great fans and all that big respect but for footballs sake they cant get through.

If they meet someone hungry and decent in the KO rounds it could be an utter embarrassment

It's been pretty much as expected for Scotland. Always going to be a tough group, perhaps they'd beat Haiti by more which is probably the disappointment. Always likely to get beat by Morocco and Brazil.

When you see some of the match ups in the last 32. Teams in this group and group F can find themselves unlucky.

Arguably Scotland playing Mexico as it stand is a better draw, I mean they'll still get beat but they'd have a better chance.

I think perhaps three of those are really plausible?

So in classical Scottish fashion it looks like it'll be missing out by a whisker.

Probably a tad harsh but I think the underlying sentiment holds true. At least give it a go lads!

I really think Steve Clarke isn't a very good manager and my god he's so dour, which kinda matches the style of football he plays.

They’ve got to cut Clarke loose, they really haven’t had a good run in any tourney they’ve made.

Just signed a new contract though !

Steve Clarke seems to have accepted their fate already .

To be fair, I don't think 3 points and a minus 3 GD will be enough and to be honest, it shouldn't be.

From what I've seen, in order of likelihood from most to least:

  1. Germany & Ivory Coast both win (highly likely - comfortably the best 2 teams in their group)
  2. Australia beat Paraguay & Turkey don't beat USA (begrudgingly the US look alright and Turkey have been awful, plus I think Paraguay are painfully average - Aussies are more than capable if they get their act together)
  3. Belgium / NZ clear winner & Egypt beat Iran (on paper Belgium and Egypt win comfortably, but both teams have flattered to deceive and I could see both of these games going the opposite way - Iran in particular have been surprisingly decent, only need another draw and will be motivated to stay in the tournament if only as a f*** you to the USA)
  4. Austria to beat Algeria by 2+ goals or Algeria to win by 4+ goals A (Think the info in the tweet is incorrect here - Jordan will finish bottom regardless as they lost to both Austria and Algeria - but I can't see anything more dramatic than a draw or tight win here. Thanks to the stupid H2H rules both teams go into this knowing they can advance just by not losing heavily).
  5. Iraq not to lose to Senegal / Senegal to win by 1 goal max (France and Norway are clearly miles ahead of these two, but realistically Senegal should be more than capable of winning by 2+ goals).

The only real question mark is over that Austria - Algeria game. By my undestanding the Disgrace of Gijón is still a VERY sore point for Algerian fans even 44 years later, and this represents a golden opportunity for them to get some long-overdue revenge on one of the culprits - if they do win it's almost certainly not going to be by 4+ goals, which bins off that scenario realistically. The other scenario is that they become what they loathe and intentionally go into it to not lose heavily, which will almost certainly put both them and Austria through.

I'm in agreement - they'll probably see 1, 2 and 3 come good, but fall down with that vital Algeria - Austria result and go home in tears.

Pretty much as you'd expect from a team of their stature really. As mentioned already laughable if they make it out the group with a single goal scored against Haiti.

Not many of their fans in the ground either, bit of a washout for them if that does deservedly become their last game.

$2000 a ticket  Was that off a tout? Jeez. Some fans will still be paying off their credit cards by the time of the next WC.

This is the crux of it really, Brazil and Morocco are likely to comfortably beat teams better than us in the next round, it's the timid showing against Haiti that's going to cost us.

It's just all felt very meek, which is the biggest disappointment.

Turns out their World Cup peaked against Denmark in the play offs.

Their fans have had a good time, but football wise they've been poor.

I do feel for the fans of countries like Scotland who will be paying through the nose to stay out there without even knowing if they're through. Another reason to scrap the 3rd place system.

Relying on Algeria, Mahrez did start out his career in Scotland could be the only omen

they don’t deserve to go through though let’s be honest abysmal showing in every game and they have given him another 4 years lol, I’m sure Rodger’s would have took it
