Likewise, had a mare for their goal but I’m surprised most said they thought he was awful all game.

He was caught on the ball a few minutes before the goal as well.

One blunder a game isnt great but multiple of them simply isn't good enough. Especially when the one for the goal was him not playing to the whistle.

Thought he was very good in the World Cup. Perhaps the system of aimlessly passing the ball etc rather than playing to his skills could be effecting him?

What really pissed me off was when he ran down the left wing ignored Thomas etc and lost possession in a game we were winning at that time.

Just so unprofessional and plain stupid from a seasoned International player.

No. Avoiding injury and being a shithouse.

I can't believe that goal yesterday. The replay gets worse every time you watch it. Let him go if he wants to leave

Agreed but we need replacements lined up before he leaves. We need at least 1 centre back in the door before we even consider losing any. We currently have 3 and id say we need 4 for the season, unless we are planning on using Gray or Aluko

Maybe he hasn't gone yet is because we haven't had an offer sufficiently large enough to get the replacement/s we have targeted. It's not always possible to take lower bids.

Since we signed Fofana....our centre back signings:

Vestergaard

Faes

Souttar

Okoli

Lascelles

All whilst we want to play a high line whilst playing out from the back. Not one of them fits.

Where the hell is Lascelles ?

Forgot he even played for us

Wasn't Lascelles just hear on loan from Newcastle.

no, he was released from Newcastle and signed with us on a short term contract, I believe.

Did you see his penalty 🤪. Could you imagine if the Carabou cup game went to penalties and he did that for us?

He played in a deep block system and put a few shifts in. That style isn’t going to get us out of league 1.

Expect retired soon if not already.

Played exactly how a player who wants to go will play. Didn’t realise he was so clumsy as well, makes Vestergaard look graceful

We'd be more likely getting promoted with that system than trying to play out from the back with what we have. McCarthy and Okoli actually can't kick a ball properly. Souttar and Skipp struggle with it. A good team and manager play to their own strengths, it'd help all our defence out immeasurably if they were just allowed to defend and get the ball away from danger, let the midfielders take the risks in the oppositions half, because what we have currently is seriously disjointed and will get no better trying to shoehorn a system that clearly doesn't work with the personnel we've got

Souttar would probably be ok at the heart of a back 3 if he was there purely to defend and not asked to pass the ball.

But that’s never going to happen.

We’ll continue trying to play a style of football that doesn’t suit the majority of our back line.

I can believe how messed up the defence is. Sell Thomas, faes, souttar. Okoli and just start again. I know it easier said than done.

One good defender in JJ a 20 year old kid.
