Come on now, surely if we want Braybrooke, Page, alves etc to thrive you must see they need some experience around them.

im sure chaplin is on about 15/20k a week and Vesty 80k.

This is a gutting transfer from the perspective of those 3. At least one of them will struggle for playing time this season because of Chaplin coming in.

Even if Vesty signed the new contact on 80k, the two relegations would put him closer to 25/30k. I do think he will be gone by the end of the week too.

Competition for places, what most successful teams have -

It’s important that the young lads don’t think they can stay in the team regardless of performances, plus 50+ games this season we’ll need a squad

Man U just spent £36m god knows what on wages for Tielemans on a 5yr contract & he's 29 :dunno:

And arguably got a bargain, because if he didn’t have that release he would’ve cost a lot more. Whilst his stock was at a all time high

3 year deal is quite a long time

What do you consider the last five to ten years of slow, painful decline then? An era?

He's only 29. In case of bad performances or should it not work out, he could well be sold before the contract expires, see Winks.

If we we sell Fatawu, after Mavididi, Alves is our most experienced player who can play wide, so likey to play there.

The under 21 have played in the JPT and consistently been pumped by League 1 and 2 sides.

We still need some senior players, we can't field a team of under 24s, as Chelsea have found out to their cost.

The issue is find the right ones and getting the right balance.

As long as he’s less of a twat than what we already have then he’ll do. I wonder what nickname social admin will give him 🤔

It would be unfair to put them 3 in together in a L1 physical campaign.

Chaplain the perfect tonic to bring these through

Great signing

At absolutely best case possible, If we had back to back promotions 2 out of the 3 years would be league 1 and championship. Surely when you put it like thats 3 years is absolutely fine given hes a very good championship player.

If he was a very good championship player he would be signing for a Championship club likey Portsmouth but he hasn’t that can mean just one of two things . First it could be he is on a very decent contract or more like

he is at best a declining Championship player who really is a EFL 1 player

Out of nowhere this one, quite unexpected.

Seriously though based on the farewell messages from Ipswich players and fans, he does seem to a be a genuinely good pro and changing room personality, but we heard this about Coady.

I don’t think Coady’s professionalism or personality can be questioned in all fairness.
