Happy with this. Interesting the club listing him as Attacking Midfielder rather than Forward say. Wonder if that hints at how RM sees him, as one of the 8/10’s

I hope we aren’t offering contracts to players because we realistically think we can get back to back promotions. The rebuild we need, from the position we are in now is enormous and if the club think like this is shows how out of touch they are.

Oh yeah i agree.

my point was 3 years is fine this contract will be league one, championship and championship for the 3 seasons which is all chaplins level.

3 years for a 29 year old is ridiculous. It's like nothing had been learnt from the Vestergaard fiasco.

Man U just spent £36m god knows what on wages for Tielemans on a 5yr contract & he's 29 :dunno:

Step one of hopefully getting our leadership group right for the upcoming season.

With signings like Chaplin and Ings though, we just have to pray that they rediscover some form.

I disagree.

A properly run club of our size should be preparing and structuring itself today for a PL promotion campaign this time next year.

even on holiday, he’s got no life.

you should see him play FM, constantly cheating

I have to say it is quite a bit more enjoyable putting up about new signings sat next to a pool though

Come on we all know it is @Loxm who cheats

A properly run club can sell him on for a fee if we think we are now above his level.

Come on now, surely if we want Braybrooke, Page, alves etc to thrive you must see they need some experience around them.

im sure chaplin is on about 15/20k a week and Vesty 80k.

You mispelt Hamza Ric, the inevitable captain fantastic.

Out of nowhere this one, quite unexpected.

Seriously though based on the farewell messages from Ipswich players and fans, he does seem to a be a genuinely good pro and changing room personality, but we heard this about Coady.

Jeez, 29 is hardly a pensioner. He'll be more than good enough for the Championship if we return next year.

Presume he wouldn't have signed for a League One club if we offered 1 or 2 years.

I know somebody who works at Ipswich who says Chaplin is a really positive person to have in a team, as well as adding quality.

I think this is an excellent signing.

agreed on this. The influence on the younger players will be pivotal, as I expect we will have a youth based side for most of this season with some seasoned pros sprinkled in
